LB starting against Holtby. Sigh.
East of the Rockies and west of the rest.

Would like our chances if it was playoffs (where Holtby loves to collapse). Not tonight though.

Nurse just blocked an OV one timer, that has to be worth an extra mill on his next deal, no?

Something like that takes a lot of intensity and grit.

I'm not confident that would have gotten reversed if it were the other way around. Oh well. Nurse is looking really good. Hard to believe he's only 22.

I guarantee that wouldn't have been a reversal in Edmonton's favour.
I think Jussi J just lost his job. Khaira looking a lot more impactful out there than at the start of the year, he was probably looking at AHL bus-rides for the rest of the season and finally got himself motivated.
Lucic almost looks quicker out there..
Nurse is our No.1 for the next 8 years, Chia better lock him up now while he's still relatively cheap. Nurse just has to get his one-timer going and he'll be gold.

Good collapse by Holtby. Contact didn't give any reason for him to fall, but he felt it and dropped like a rock to make sure nothing would count.

Questioned yes, disagreed with, yes, ripped, no.
The 1st line is being too cute at times but you said this;

Pretty blanket statement about how well McDavid is playing.
As far as the RNH part of the quote do you actually think RNH has been the better overall player or just relative to your expectations?

On a nightly basis he has been the most effective 200 ft player. He drives the play well. Pushes the cycle well and gets back well. Mcdavid floats on the blue line way too much waiting for he puck to squeak out. His points are here but too many shifts I see books I from that line.

Fair enough.
My counter to that is that you might see McDavid get too pretty a dozen times a game. You will also see him create a great scoring chance for himself or someone else a dozen times a game.
I am saying the high event count for McDavid may be clouding how you are seeing his overall effectiveness and maybe even exacerbate his mistakes.
As far as RNH goes, I am taking nothing from him. He has been great and much improved at both ends of the rink.
With that in mind, he is behind McDavid in every single main stat, basic or advance.
The only place RNH beats him is shooting % and RNH has one more PPG.
You have criticized McDavid for not shooting enough yet he has 11 more shots than RNH.
There is absolutely no combination of eye test, stats, advanced analytics, or anything else that gives any validity that RNH is a better player so far this season.
RNH has been great, at times McDavid and the first line could be better, but if you believe RNH has been a better player I am ok agreeing to disagree.

Great hard shift by that line and rewarded with a goal.
Any chance you can tell us how great a few other guys in the bottom six are? You seem to be able to tell the future!

ugh...there is no excuse for a give and go for a guy from the damn blue line to end up wide open in the slot to be that easy.

Didn't we get no penalties last game vs Washington? What a coincidence that the refs decided to ignore absolutely every illegal play by the Cap tonight, and there were loads of them.
I guess that's just things evening up eh?

McDavid gets a stick in the balls from Orlov on his breakaway in OT, no call. Best player in the NHL on a breakaway, gets a chop in the junk from behind by Orlov, NO call. Two refs are out there.. I kid you not.
Refs total bush per usual. Oilers get zero respect.
