He's saying Islanders.
If it's Hamonic, I'd have to ask why. Didn't we just get that player in Adam Larsson? How many low offence, defensive defencemen do you want on the team?

Boychuk or Strome maybe? Boychuk has that blast from the point, plus there's the Bruins connection.
I doubt Ebs gets us Hamonic.

What Commodore actually break stuff before it happens? See he has comments about trades today, but likely after they were announced?

If there is any truth to this there has to be more on each side. A RW has to be coming back + something else.
I would think it might be something like.....
Eberle, Pouliot
For
Strome, Halak & Pulock
That would make sense for both teams. We get a RD with potential to be a PP guy, replace Eberle, get a quality back up tender & dump one of the Steve Austin boys salary.
The NYI get Eberle to play with Tavares & Pouliot can replace the minutes and some of the points of Strome.
Doubt this happens, but maybe a true hockey trade can happen at the deadline? Sounds like the Islanders are trying for Duschene as well. Looks like they may be big game hunting.

I haven't looked at salary or anything, also is Pulock a righty? If numbers work out I wouldn't be crushed if this happened.

Islanders and Oilers had a deal in place, R Strome and Halak to the Oilers for J Eberle. Islanders have backed out of deal teams ...
... teams are still talking...... as purr Garfield
Oilers were not going to shop Eberle until the offseason APG
Hope that isn't actually true. Trading for a lesser forward with the difference being a backup goalie? Poor asset management. Should be moving like a 3rd rounder or something for a backup. No need to downgrade your skaters for a backup.

Really hope that wasn't an actual deal in place. Don't get me wrong, Halak would be an upgrade for backing up Dadbot, but Strome in place of Eberle? I'd rather it be a 3rd round pick and Cizikas.

wow, I didn't know Halak had a 4.5M cap hit with 1 year left, and he hasn't been good this year. He's the goalie version of pouliot. We better not be giving up anything to take him off the Islanders hands. They should give us a 3rd and we'll give them a 4th. Or they can retain 50% salary and take a 4th.

I have no doubt Garfield was a real person in the org at one point - Treena nailed so many predictions correctly in a very short time span when she started. But since then, I don't know if "she's" gotten anything right.

Eberle doesn't seem offensively effective on this team at times, but then other than McD who does? Grass is always greener. Hope that Ebs for a second rate goalie, and a second rate winger doesn't happen, we don't need anymore mediocrity on this team, mediocre players can be had a dime a dozen.

Dreger is suggesting a 3 way deal potentially on the table between Oilers, Islanders, and Avalanche. It would involve Hamonic, Duchene, and something that is not Eberle? I think I like the sounds of that...

He suggests Hamonic for Duchene may be a deal that could happen, but that Hamonic may not be a fit for the Avs and that a 3 way deal could be an option instead.
No mention of the Oilers as part of that 3 way deal at all though.
He does mention Eberle in an unrelated point, but I didn't get the impression that he was talking Oilers / Avs / Isles 3 way trade at all.
Unfortunate, as I'd love love love Duchene here. Hamonic would be nice too, though I think we essentially have him in Larsson.

The trade for Desharnais is making me think that Ebs may be in fact heading elsewhere after tomorrow. I'd bet that Davidson was moved to make way for an incoming D-man that Ebs will be traded for, hopefully Hamonic or Shattenkirk.

That's a really weird assessment. Desharnais is not a right shot or a right winger to help the incredible void that moving Eberle would garner. And I think you missed that Shattenkirk got traded to the Capitals, unless you're suggesting they're going to re-trade him to us!

Eh? No way no how is Shattenkirk coming here. Great chance to win with the Caps, wants to play in the East. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he re-ups with Washington.

I'm not sure the caps are willing to give up on Shattenkirk just yet?
We need more than a rental for Ebbs and as much as I like the hammer he really doesn't address our immediate needs?

This is a really odd reaction to the Davidson trade
If in fact Eberle is traded tomorrow (and I dont think he does) then I dont believe this trade has anything to do with it.
- If Eberle is traded we basically have no one on RW except Drai
- Shattenkirk just went to the Caps, do you mean in the offseason? Either way, for different reasons, he isnt coming to Edmonton
- I really dont get the love for Hamonic around here. He is basically a lesser version of Larsson. How does that fill a void.

I say hell yes, I've been saying it for a couple years, the caveat being they have to address RW. I don't think JP coming up from Bakersfield for the run is the answer just yet.
