To little to late really. That kind of effort needs to be there the entire game not the last 20 minutes.

it's been 3 years since you kids were drafted figure it out already.

Once it got to 4-3 Phoenix stopped screwing around and shut it down.

Doh, I missed the moral victory part of the moral victory. Did catch the very end where Hall yelled at the ref for 30 seconds and probably a bunch more after the game ended.

Oilers continue to be masters of getting teams to hang back and let them back into games by giving huge leads away.

Looks like someone else has "given up" another jersey on the ice tonight.

Save your jerseys. Stop showing up to games instead. Real change comes from half empty buildings.

Someone should just sponsor paper bags for the fans.....17,000 + fans in paper bags sends a statement too......

people can rag on the fans all they want for this. Its their money, their right to express their opinion.

If Lowe had any true intelligence, he would be able to recognize what is best for the team is for him to resign and ride off in the sunset. When your hubris is such that it gets in the way of what is best for an organization....its a slow and ugly twisted train wreck that can't be stopped that follows...

So this is what hope feels like?

Should watch Jonesy's post game interview.. Says some pretty good things -

It's sad that this team desperately needs accountability and players to grow a spine, but as soon as they do they are deemed difficult and shipped out. The team should be building on that, not throwing it out.

Oh well, it helped LA win their first Stanley Cup (Stoll, Greene, Penner).

Well, tonight it looks liked we had an honest-to-goodness fourth NHL line. They tilted the ice in the right direction, engaged physically, and were arguably the best line for the Oilers tonight.

Very impressed with Ryan Jones lately. Doing everything he needs to be an effective NHLer. In my books, he's earning another contract as a 12th/13th forward. He looked great with Hendricks and Gordon tonight.

EXACTLY, I think if we had 4 lines that could play with the passion and energy that Hendricks and Jonesy play with, we would have a winning team.

The problem with our skill guys is that they have lost their passion and it is making me sick! I loved Hendricks going over to the bench after his goal and trying to get the boys going, good for him. To me it seems like in hockey (and real life too) that its the guys who have to try hard to get to the dance that actually have the passion to win.

23 and 28 aren't the best hockey players but they love hockey and they want to win, and the desire to win will get you more wins than skill!

I know Hall has played with a little fire lately, Ebs has scored a bit and Nuge is always noticeable but they are skilled even when they aren't passionate, if they could just crank up the passion, they would be unstoppable.

Oh, and one last thing, how come Hendricks is the guy to go to the bench and talk directly to Smyth to try and pump him up? If Smyth isn't the guy "pumping tires" on the bench then wth is he doing on this team??

Third and Fourth line played the best on the Oilers. First 40 minutes it looks as if Hall was just out there for a morning skate. It looked to me like the first 2 lines haven given up on the coach.
I also think the top line thinks this is the Drillers were the goals they score are worth 2 points if everyone on the ice touches the puck first and 3 points if they can do 3 fancy moves in a row. Maybe the 3 moves is actually a power up... not sure.

hehe. Saw the original feed. You can definitely see an L on the back, and a straight line right before the L. That rules out Belov. Was definitely a Gilbert.

Wonder if Eakins is using it as a motivational tool.

And the margin has now been slashed to 1 point and 3 games in hand.

I really don't know what to say. I was expecting playoffs this year, or at least meaningful hockey till the end. Not the worst season ever. Unbelievable.

I wonder why Eakins collected the tossed jersey?
Is Eakins going to make the worst player in a loss wear the tossed jersey, to go along with the military jacket for best player in a win?
