Watching Sportsnet this morning and they are reporting no Comrie for the year to make room for younger players.

As it should be. I really like the fact that he had the gumption to come back to a place in all likelyhood he should have hated til the last breathe in his body, but there is no room for him on a fairly small, young & rebuilding team.

I wish him all the best and if a team signs him for around $1 million a year they will get excellent value and return.

I do have the utmost respect for Mike Comrie the hockey player!!!

I definitely have new respect for the guy, he probably would have had 20 last year if it hadn't been for the bout with Mono. I think he won a lot of people back with his pre-season fight list year

Still jaded but we've got McDavid

This sucks for me, I loved Comrie on the Oilers but at least he came back and made up with the fans. I was hoping another year, guy was fun to watch.

Good luck on your new team Mr. Duff!

I would of liked to have seen him sign, but playing the kids is more important.

I am very happy we did not sign Comrie. Absolutely brutal in his own end and without the puck, and we don't exactly need another diminutive forward.

Tambellini is seemingly doing everything he can to allow for a youth movement. I am sure this was not an easy decision for them.

Horcoff and MacIntyre rule.

This is the right move and sends a clear signal that the lineup will be very young this year. That said, Comrie redeemed himself to many Oiler fans including this one. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up.

Yeah, I'm glad he came back last year, made up with the city and the fans. Rexall will be a kinder place for him to come visit now.

If that's true that could turn out to be a great signing for the Pens and great for Comrie.

Amen to that. The Penguins need players like that...wingers to play with those centres...and really, who wouldn't want to go to that team and play with Crosby and Malkin?
