This game will put the oil under 500, sorry loss here 5-2 Rangers.

Skip this on PPV as well, you will be disappointed if you're an oiler fan.

The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.

Generally Disappointed.

I hate to say it but I agree completely. This PPV will not be purchased tonight as I think the Oilers are in for another rough go. (I hope I'm wrong)

4-2 Rangers with an empty netter at the end

On a positive note, with Horcoff being out, he'll still have an opportunity to register the same number of shots as he did the last two games.

lmao
A streak Horcoff will no doubt be successful in maintaining.

The Rangers are slumping right now and hopefully have lost at least a little bit of fight after their stern scolding from the NHL [suspension and $10k fine for Torts].
I think both teams continue to have difficulties to score but the Oilers pull it off in shootouts -- 2-1 Oil.

I hope I do not get two score predictions correct in a row!

That said, I'm happy to see I'm not part of a meager 7% of this site that has little to no optimism heading into tonight's tilt. That really surprised me Monday.

Is it just me, or too many years of watching Oilers hockey or this season is becoming like a broken record? Besides my own random illusions of optimism over the years, there are not a lot of tangible bright spots along the road.

The Oilers are like a lukewarm shower. Sure it's not ice cold, but you keep wishing someone could turn the temperature up because it's just not good enough.

Prior to opening this site back in 96, I would find any way to watch or listen to the games. My streak of watching 90%+ Oilers game each season has ended in 09-10. Most years I'd buy the entire PPV package without thinking, this season I have not bought one and will not be again tonight.

That analogy is pretty much spot on. Well put.

I've become so disinterested in the Oilers over the past couple seasons that it literally bothers me. I'm not totally disinterested by any means, but you compare me from 2007 and anytime prior to that and now, and it's a huge difference. Back in the day I didn't get SNW, but if you put the channel on you could watch it in black and white with no sound. That's how I watched Oiler games for two years. Now I have HD and a lot of times I find myself skipping, or at least fast forwarding through a bunch of games.

Our esteemed leader here at the Big Time is admitting apathy and ambivalence? ; )

Listen, to other TEAM AY members, I better not be reading anymore of this resignation-type talk!

Now is not the time to be turning our heads away!

We meet challenges head on!

I know I said last PPV opportunity the Oilers never disappoint when I order up the game... and well that kinda went south. I'm sorry. Tonight WILL be different!

4-2 Oilers!

The Penner with three points!

Way to answer the question. Are you in politics or something?

So there you are AFH. Nobody but AY is in the club.

you and me's go way back!

Think about it, man, it's like nine years now you've been putting up with me.

I salute you!

'member our deal, too. Anything sudden happens to Andy an' you got the Rack 'Em Up! series of devine, toe-curlin' splendour and love to carry on!

More about TEAM AY? The heart of it? The soul? It's partly about oozing charm, charisma, a sense of humour and integrity. Man alive, it's certainly not some one-headed monster or anything. It thrives on diversity of opinion. Different levels of good information. The winning team, for free thinkers... those that think for themselves!

Another apology is in order, I suppose. 4-2 NYR! That's what I meant! ; )

4-3 Oilers win in shootout. Gagner, Penner and Comrie each get a goal. Gagner wins the game for the Oilers in the shootout.

Edit: Just read on Oilers.nhl.com Staios and Comrie are in, Smid, Stone, Horkoff and JFJ are out

I've got it for a 3-1 win for the Oil, and being on a hot streak in the prediction comp (up second right now... I've never been so high!!! ) I'd suggest you take note. With that my streak collapses tonight, but hey I'm savouring it whilst it lasts.

3-1 with the last being an empty netter, don't ask me why I think we'll win, but we're due something right now.

yes, Quinn certainly went outta his tonight to point out the no-hitter the Oilers served up. Used Comrie as an example of one player who took the time to step out if his comfort zone taking the body. Mentioned that lack of "competitors."

Easy to play against? That was one of Quinn's promises. Those days were over.
