Ahh the rare afternoon (well, for me anyway) game. Boston hasn't been that great lately and also have some key injuries. I'll say 3-2 Oil as we squeek one outta there. Penner with another strong game.
GO OIL!!

A win against the B's would be sweet today so hopefully the flu bug has run its course and the boys come out to play!

Looks like they are missing some of their top players as well with Savard and Lucic on the IR. Sounds like we may get Visnovsky and Comrie back today, but doubtful Pisani or Staios play unless things are really bad.
A morning game on Hallowe'en is not such a bad thing. Hopefully our new "first" line keeps producing or showing some positive signs. I also hope we are able to ice a better second line. The kid line was not good enough last game.
Horcoff and MacIntyre rule.

The thing with the kid line, when they have the puck they look great and dangerous - all 3 of them have above average offensive instincts IMO. But it's when they lose the puck that they look to be in a completely different league. They just get eaten up by the opposition and simply can't seem to retrieve the puck.

I hope the Oilers catch the Bruins on one of their frequent off days in October and pull of a low-scoring gritty win!
Boston's roster is not as deep scoring-wise as it used to be even last season: apart from Savard and Lucic, they are missing Kessel and Kobasew (traded).
I hope they show this game somewhere in my part of the world ;).

Just based on the tone and measure of Quinn's comments from BOS yesterday, he wasn't anywhere near as magnanimous with his evaluation of Cog's line as he was post-game, that's for sure.
Never hurts to go back and take a second look!

Who will be the starting goalies for the Bruins?
I am hearing Rask from some sources, while Thomas on others.
Edit: Looks like it will most likely be Rask.

Tencer's twitter saying Pisani is taking the warmup and they have officially moved Souray to LTIR to make room.
Speaking of Souray, while I call the play careless/irresponsible vs. dirty...still frustrating to see Iginla get two minutes and Souray get what looks to be two months for the hit.
Hopefully Penner/Hemsky can keep things going and Horcoff can get closer to back-on-track.

Agreed Superintendent but what it is what it is. If Souray is indeed going to be out for a while then Tambo et al should be looking at trading one of their extra forwards for a stay at home D. Maybe someone like Matt Greene?
Hopefully the Oil can jump on the Bruins like everyone else, have to think that Patty is going to break out soon - I predict 2 goals for him today, 4-1 Oil.
I guess MacIntyre would come out of the lineup if Pisani is in, maybe his presence would wake up Moreau, a 18 13 34 line has some potential.

Whoever wins the special teams battle wins the game imo. Boston has a bad pp so far clicking at only 14% on the year, usually teams have break out games against the Oilers in the past, hopefully that doesnt happen today.
Bruins win 3-1. Bulin lets in two bad goals early on and the game ends up to be a snoozer.
June 2006"Goalie's not good. Won't be back in the series."
June 2010 "With the historic first selection in the national hockey league draft 2010, I'm extremely excited to select ..."
