Question answered and a shorty too. What a debacle. I loved the cheer from the crowd as the 2-1 developed though.

It's just a ****y loss after a long break. Let's not pretend like we've never seen that before.
Besides it's not the loss that matters, it's what you do after the loss that counts. I believe we won 5 of 6 before the break and I don't think too many people focus on the one loss.
I say we step away from the edge of the cliff, turn the page and see what happens next game. If this turns into 4 wins then no problem. If this turns into 4 losses, then that'll be a sore spot.
EDIT: Ha ha, they scored two more goals while I was typing this post. I stopped letting my team alter my mood quite some time ago, but this is actually getting comical.

And it's the populace with this "acceptance of the norm" that will continue to allow the braintrust of this team to make sure the tattoo in your avatar never changes.
Keep on trucking majority. Friggin Jonestown, death juice and all.

K.McC#24 wrote on Tue, 27 January 2009 21:06 | Where's the review thread, might as well have been up there halfway through the first, when this game was over.
Some teams were prepared for the first game after the break....apparently the Oilers players & staff missed the memo that there was a hockey game tonight. Total disappointment that this isn't even a competitive hockey game. The shot totals for the Oilers are too kind, boosted by several power plays.
What a shoddy, total non-game by the Oilers. Wow. I guess a game like this was coming, but I thought the team might be beyond mailing an entire game in at this point of the season. Guess I was wrong. Total lack of preparation, total lack of game.
I can't wait to hear MacT's remarks after this gem.
|
He'll talk about how a bad break in the first 10 seconds and we're on our heels, how Rollie has been there all year and it's unfortunate for him, and how things just snowballed away.
Out of curiosity, what would you expect or hope he would say?
|
I would expect him to say that the Oilers were boot-f----d by a team that wanted it more, by a team that was properly prepared. I'd expect him to take blame for not having his team prepared for a critical hockey game.
9-1 as I'm typing this.....hilarious.
But yeah, there will be no mention of fault on the part of the coaching staff. This game is on the players for the most part, but I will be shocked if MacT takes any blame for the biggest debacle of the season, when it's fairly obvious that he should.

Is there a new rule against hitting or fighting in games with a 8 goal differential?

I had a gross thought in the back of my mind that this would happen after our hot few games b4 the all star break.
Twice this season we give up 9 goals lmao. Yikes. Poor JDD.

Yeah thank God we have that rock solid backup. Hopefully this burns off his rust. I guess that dazzling save % ain't so nice now I suspect.

There should be a rule that when you're 8 goals down you're not allowed to blast the goal horn.

Only down by 7. Quick pull the goalie.
Never mind...now its 8 so that would be rediculous.

LOL way to go, A-holes. That should clear the rest of them out getting the 10th goal scored against 40 seconds into your own powerplay.

There should be an Edmonton by-law against blowing the goal horn when you are 8 goals behind.

JDD sucks? I don't think that's the case this whole team blows tonight.
JDD is a fine goaltender imo, but his confidence cannot be that high right now obviously.

There were more hits in the all star game on Sunday. Actually one team looked like an all star team and had the time and space to make the kind of plays you only usually see in an all star game.
