I know, they should throw the rest of the game, Calgary has already made the playoffs now, and if the Oilers actually win, they will end up with the 6th pick overall rather than the 4th!

It would be just like the Oilers of this season to win this game and screw themselves. I'll be enraged if they win the damn game. If there was ever a reason to tank a 3rd period this is it. What happens if we get a loser point?

A loser point would drop us one spot to 5th, though still with a shot at first overall. We'd be tied on points with Washington but would finish above them due to more wins. Two points potentially drops us to 6th, unless Chicago could somehow get at least one point in Dallas tomorrow.

It would be a classic end to this season that they play themselves out of the lottery for the first pick.

Story of this season. I'm sure Mac-T will actually manage to give a truely motivational speach anstead of putting them to sleep. Sykora should be in goal for the 3rd.

And just as gruesome as having to cheer against the Oilers vs the flames for our general betterment at the draft is the the Islanders/Leafs conundrum. I really really really want the Leafs to miss the playoffs and and yet we need the Islanders to miss. Of course Don Cherry the total idiot was prelambasting the Devils saying...'oh they better play Brodeur after all people will be paying good money to watch that game.' What a Leaf homer. After playing a million games once again this year the Devils would be fools not to rest Brodeur if they have nothing to play for.

A loser point drops us into a tie for fourth last with Washington.. but we hold the tie breaker so we are fifth last.. but still have a shot in the lottery. Please lose this game guys!

Where is this jump coming from? Are the guys scared that the top 5 pick might just beat one of them out of a job?

SIGH!

I can't wait to hear Pendergast say near draft time. 'Well the top 5 prospects are blue chip but after that it really drops off and the next 50 are all the same quality.'

If I was the teams we just passed I'd be laughing my ass off. Hell if I was a Flames fan I'd be laughing my ass off.

I've never been angry to see us winning before. This is just plain annoying to watch.

why do the Oilers always do this?

'06- 3 long hard months of playoffs just to completly blow it in game 7
'07- 2 long hard months of losing game in game out to get in the draft lottery to come out in game 82 and find a way to pull it out... maybe... we still have hope...
