Though I would've preferred Seguin, I'm still very happy with this pick. Thank you, Oilers, for not drafting off the board.

Agreed, but a great day. We've all been waiting since December for this day and now it's over. Great Day! Can't wait to see Hall this season.

F'in right. Half surprised to hear the Oilers call one of the names everyone was expecting. Now I need to find out what number he'll be wearing. Good times.

Hall: "I was shaking in my seat. I wanted to go to Edmonton so bad."
Awesome. Just awesome.
Now let's sit back and see if Tambo's got anything else up his sleeve.
Fall for Hall Mission Status: ACCOMPLISHED!

Have a quote?
Would have liked Seguin but knew it would be Hall for a while. I'm happy for the team and happy for Hall.
The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.
Generally Disappointed.

In the post-pick interview with TSN, he was asked whether his Flames-fan days were behind him.
Hall said something to the effect of... "Absolutely!... I'm an Oiler now."

Good God, for this kid, winning and being #1 is like a fecking psychotic need. I can actually imagine him trembling with anxiety at the thought of not going #1, even when the choice is Edmonton (not a natural fit, we need a centre and are further from competing than Boston, which needs a winger.)
He's unbelievable.

I just hope we don't give him the cursed 44. Call me superstitious, but that is not a good number for our team.

Bah. If anyone can exorcise that curse, its this young man.
I like 44. I hope he takes it.
I'm not a Klowe guy but he was the first draft pick. Scored the first Oiler goal. Those cups. It would seem bush league. Hmmmm. Then again I could see Lowe doing this to Anderson if Hall wore #9 though so........

True enough. Someone has to turn it around. It might as well be our first round pick. Maybe the rebuild starts with rebuilding tainted numbers...?

I am a very happy Oilers fan right now.
Nothing against Seguin, but I have no doubt that Hall will earn being picked #1 and will show everyone why he is the bpa of this entire draft.
He will be something very special.

TAYLOR HALL!! Had such a big smile on my face when I saw how happy ther kid was. Also, as much as I would have loved Seguin as well, glad we didn't give up Hemsky AND Eberle.

There has been no doubt in my mind that Hall was our guy. Seguin is a great player, but Hall is much more decorated, and has chemistry with Eberle. We made the right decision. Good luck to Seguin in Boston, but we have the right boy.

How much did the tease of Hall-Eberle chemistry affect the Oilers choice? I mean they already have high hopes for Eberle and they've already seen them gel at the juniors. That's quite the intangible.

I was just barely on the Seguin side of the fence but I will not complain. We just got the most dynamic, explosive 18 year old in the world.

This best explains my feelings.
You just couldn't block out Halls accomplishments. Taylor put the gun to this scouting staffs temple.
For Tambellini not to call Hall might even be negligent. I feel this team needs Seguin more. But Hall is more of sure thing. It was safer.
Im pretty excited.

I would have been happy with either guy, but Im pretty pumped about this!
Hall seems like he is genuinely thrilled to be an Oiler. Awesome vibe from him.
I wonder if he has any idea what he is in for. The pressure on this kid is going to be immense. I wonder what he thought when he saw a full (?) reaxal place watching the draft...
