Solid win - that was fun to watch.
I couldn't help but feel like this is how so many more of our games could have gone this year if it hadn't been for the opposition goalie standing on his head. Finally converted on our chances rather than the shots being saved or blocked.
Several winnable games on this road trip. Hoping for at least 6 pts from it.

3 first round picks, any prospect they want, and Jack Campbell and for Crosby!
Clean house or bust

Letang would look good with Nurse.

Pens looks old and slow. I get they played the night before but yikes.
I'm surprised JP didn't get in against his old team. He was scratched against the Flames and Oilers. Usually playing your old team is automatic.

I totally forgot that Puljujarvi was on the Penguins now.
Also, someone pointed out that the Penguins and Oilers are the two oldest teams in the league. Looking at the Oilers I realized we really do have a lot of guys just under and just over 30. The years really do blow by for all of us.

That's what happens when you piss your draft capital away in the name of "WE'RE ALL IN!!!!". No young, cheap replacements. Have to backfill with mostly mediocre over-the-hill players.

I would love to be a fan of the Penguins and have watched them go for it for 15 years every year with Crosby and win 3 cups in the process.

That argument really only works in hindsight. In hindsight, we should not have made the Athanasiou or Ennis trades, because we lost and then couldn't afford Athanasiou. We also should not have made a trade for Brassard or Kulak or Bjugstad, because we didn't win. Ekholm hasn't won us anything either.
I know I am exaggerating, but if not now then when would we go all in? When there are no more weaknesses on the roster? At that point the answer is never. I remember Chicago winning the cup in 2010 with a crappy goalie, and then again in 2015 with no depth on D. Now is as good a time as ever to go ALL IN!!!!
