Besides having a passing resemblance to Chiarelli, Bowman seems to have the same demeanor as Chiarelli.. even the way he talks .. calm and so self assured.. leaving the impression he's thinking things through on every decision.. however.. Chiarelli traded hall.. traded a high 1st for Rhienhart.. signed Lucic for long.. and ..Bowman signs Fred for 8 years on a retirement contract.. who then gets healthy scratched in the playoffs when the Oilers had no one healthy and playing on one leg.. lets Broberg walk away.. sign Mangiapane.. so to me Bowman starting smell a lot like Chiarelli.. and he's got a lot of cap space this summer.. more rope.. Lord help us all.

Bowman is the last person I want running the team right now. He was supposed to be the solution, but now the team has taken a significant drop. He's going to be desperate now... and not in a good way.

Agree.. desparate men become dangerous men.. he's feeling the heat on his neck.. nothing to lose.. money to spend.. and if he screws up he just collects his pay cheque(s) and does the sportsnet panel.. Oilers left with no prospects and a waste ass roster except fro the top few guys..
Oiler scouting staff is who I really worry about.. whoever made the bet on Mangiapane needs to get punted to the sun.. 🌞 .. they can't even scout they're own players and they see them everyday.

We did the Boston GM. The red wings GM. Now the blackhawks.
Who is left from prominent teams around 2010? Rutherford? Lombardi? Shero passed away unfortunately.

We didn’t get the real Boston or Blackhawks GM… we got the next guy that came along and inherited most of the important pieces and just kept the train on the tracks long enough for them to win before they fell apart.
Maybe even the arguably Red Wings, but atleast Holland’s team was better than what he inherited.

This was totally true with the Blackhawks.. I remember when Dale Tallon built the core of the Blackhawks and they became dangerous Cup contenders.. Scotty Bowman was a "senior advisor" with the blackhawks.. Stan was assistant GM.. then there was a coup.. Scotty whispered sweet nothings into Rocky Wirtz's ear and Tallon was punted out.. Scotty's boy was put in as GM..
Feel bad for Tallon.. they punted him the right before their first Stanley Cup win with that roster..
IMHO there is nothing in Stan's previous history with the Blackhawks that indicates he can build a Cup contender.
This is the team Tallon put together. (see below). solid.. all the team identity, character, and talent was assembled by Tallon.. his vision.. Stan just coasted on Tallon's roster until the players got too expensive or aged out..
