Makar reportedly turns down 8 year deal - https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/general/cale-makar-reported ly-rejects-long-term-deal-with-avalanche/ss-AA2ataYk?ocid=en tnewsntp&pc=U531&cvid=6a85e77c4a594b2f9a23b005fc5885 bf&ei=50

Interesting... their future cap increase room is already spoken for.

It seems to me that ever since Matthews did his 5 year deal it is par for the course that big stars want shorter deals so they can get even bigger deals later. Interesting flip from 10 years ago when players wanted the long term security. It honestly makes it even harder for a team to put together a winning roster, and it might become worth it to trade players away at younger ages now as they might not be worth the money they want when they are older (especially if they get some injuries along the way).

8 x 20.4.

Lol what an awful deal for the Avs. Definitely in the players best interest though to stay in Denver - if he played in Canada people might stop washing his balls long enough to notice the flaws in his game instead of handing him norris trophys for showing up to the rink.

Bouchard looks like an absolute steal right now.
