Too old, too slow, bad goaltending, bad D, no run support, no fight... this team has nothing.

Sure Skinner isn't great, but this team leaves it's netminders out to dry so many times. It's cost us badly so far in this series.
To many players playing at only 20% or less today. Things have to change and change quickly.
Take me home, country road
to the place where I belong
to Alberta, to see the Oilers
take me home, country road

It’s not Skinner’s fault… but he’s not good enough to bail out the team when they make mistakes. He’s not as good as the rest of the team is bad.

You need to be able to make a tough save here and there. His confidence is completely shot.
The crowd is clearly in his head as well. Late in the game on a close up after a save he waited for the LA crowd to taunt, then grinning in his helmet as they jeer him, taunting his name. Just stop the puck Stu.
The team seems to play better in front of Pickard and seem to genuinely love the guy.

They know Pickard ain’t getting any shutouts or stealing a game, but he can atleast give the team a chance to win if they score enough. Skinner turns into those beaded curtain door things from the 60s/70s at the worst possible moment.

One team seems to have a gameplan and are sticking to it.
Other team. Not so much…

If the coach starts Skinner on Friday, he’s crazy.

I would have thought there's no way but why else would he put Pickard in in that situation.
If he is dumb enough to die on that hill then he will deserve the result.

Whatever mojo this team had died when they brought in Bowman against the desire of everyone who wanted nothing to do with the guy and supposed lifetime ban.
The Holloway and Broberg offer sheet and loss, and everything else down hill.

Terrible assest management at its finest

Are we ready for Quenneville joining us mid-season next year though?

Feels like the only thing that can save us is the power of California closets. Get back home and absorb the greatness Skinner and everyone else!

Better team won. Our PK says so, our PP says so. 2/25 are continuously exposed. Knoby goes to 97/29, leaving LA to have to focus on 1 line only. Knoby doesn't realize 93 is certainly not a 2C centre anymore. Our centres can't win a PK faceoff to save their lives. The big guys refuse to take the puck to the net.
Jackson is largely to blame on this team's composition: too old, too slow, too soft.
...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

I'd love to see 93 get healthy scratched but there really is no other option. He's looking even more useless than usual this time of year.

Anyone missing Ken Holland yet?
Oilers PK is short bus special in this series. Killed 2 of 5 tonight. I think other than the 5 vs 3 it's been atrocious.

Weren't gonna win with Holland either. Probably wouldn't have even spent Kane's LTIR money. I'd say we miss competent GMing period, but I don't even remember what that looks like. Got close to a miracle last year taking McDrai for granted, but still fell short because of crap GMing.
It's honestly hard to have any respect for the team the Oilers have built when you take a look at how other teams have rebuilt without gifts of generational talents, like Florida, and LA. Just piece by piece making good moves, via the draft and trades, to incrementally add players that perfectly fit with the overall vision of the team. We still just grab at the first shiny things we see and blow our cap space ASAP.

The same as ithey've always been. Hope and pray McDavid can outscore the problems.
