Better overall effort tonight by the team compared to Saturday. Best of all, they made the Sharks pay for holding that stupid opening ceremony! YEAH!!!

Good job boys. In previous years, last weeks loss would have carried over and the Oilers wouldn't have had a chance. This year is just entirely different.

Brutal. These linesmen can call an offside by seeing a blade a quarter inch off the blueline, but they miss that...

Anyway, big win!

Kane should get a suspension for that baseball swing at a puck head high. That is like Kassian's swing at Gagner back in the day. Just completely careless use of the stick.

Solid game from Koskinen to weather that 1st period. Solid game from some lesser lights. PK is very, very good. Connor with 3 pts.

Oscar Klefbom is a mature #1D. I didn't think I'd ever say that.

I haven't been paying attention to other rookies in the league, but damn, the Oilers have the real deal in Ethan Bear. No one was talking about this kid last year.

Always good to beat some of the pukes on SJ.

Last year, Bear might have had a shot at the All-Rookie team - Heiskanen made it with just 33 points. The year before, McAvoy had 32 and made the team. The year before that, Brady Skjei had 34 points and Werenski had 36. If he was in any of those seasons, Bear's in the mix.

However, this year, unless he has a MASSIVE back-half he's not going to get a sniff, only because of the other players in the running. Kale Makar is over a point per game so far (23 pts in 21 games) and Quinn Hughes has 14 points in 21 games. Bear's in the running for third best with Adam Fox and John Marino right now, but I don't think he can challenge the other two unless one of them gets a serious injury.

None of you should feel bad though for trying to pump the tires of our boy Bear!

I remember Minny fans flooding forums with calls for their boy Jonas Brodin with his 11 points in 45 games (shortened season) to get Calder consideration because he was playing 23 mins a night against tough competition and surviving. Our lad Bear is currently tops for rookie ice time and he's getting the shutdown minutes with Nurse.

Yes but has he missed any time due to injury? Even a shift? The only two factors the selection folks consider are if you played all year and if your team makes the playoffs.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

Anyone have an update on Matt Benning, who, contrary to what some folks around here seem to think, does not suck when he is used properly. Hope it’s not too serious. If I have any issue about Benning it’s that he struggles coming off an injury.

At least Larsson is also a RH shot and reportedly is healthy.Just hope he isn’t too rusty.

Koski earned a big chunk of that contract tonight. Very solid goal tending and the team played pretty good. Secondary scoring becoming a factor. Really enjoy watching Bear play too.

Good payback for the last game in SJ.

LA next. Really good shot at going 9 games over .500. Hope they don't play down to the competition Thursday.

They have to beat down the Kings, dont they? I predicted a big win, but any win will do.

Very good game but the whole team. Koskinen was real good and made big saves when needed. PK was great again. The big boys get their points but some lesser guys like Khaira and Granlund get goals which is awesome. Very good win against a Divisional opponent.

Slowly but surely we are seeing some depth scoring. Nice to see.

Wasn't expecting much after getting crushed last time and we lost 5 straight to them.
Nice to see the effort out of the gate.
Didn't notice Jones much (might be a good thing for D)
Bear is looking steady which is nice.
Top line continues to roll (Glad Gagner experiment there is done)
Khaira is on a roll!
Nice to see other secondary scoring too.
Koski played well.

Need to keep this up against LA and don't take them softly.

Interesting pattern of the Oilers not getting beat twice, by lower level teams.

Shows hubris and the overcoming of it, or Tip figuring the other team out.

Interesting either way.
