I don't know, Mitchkov's toe was in the crease and he hit Skinner pretty hard on the pads, league might call this back.

Early in the season but I am already sick of calls being reviewed. They are worse than commercial breaks for sapping the air out of game.

hahaha, of course right after we lose a goal for a toe in the crease we lose a challenge for a guy jamming his stick into Skinner pad to get a puck into the net.

NHL officiating..just get rid of these guys. Best case scenario they are absolutely horrible at their jobs. You could make that call on every shift.

I remember back in the day we killed a crazy amount of powerplays in a row against some of the best teams in the NHL.

Now every PK is an auto goal against.

The speed of that being called off for such small contact. Impressive. Refs almost always put the burden of little contact like that on the scored on team to challenge.

I hate that but the Oilers were right not to challenge. Hyman took his blocker to the side and that’s all the league needs right now to overturn a goal.

On the other side, I thought our first challenge was foolish. Michkov making a play on the puck and Skinner has to be strong on his post. Dude is a 180 lbs teenager. You can’t let him jam that past. I thought there was no way that came back.

Oilers will need better in the next two periods. Smarter hockey and less stupid penalties. Didn’t love the Hyman one but we aren’t making it easy on ourselves.

I think that was almost the exact play of the "What am I supposed to tell Corey???" goal from 2017. Although Corey just backed into Talbot's blocker all by himself to prevent Talbot from making an easy save.

Refs helping jog some Oilers fan memories

The “what will I tell Corey” goal was pretty awful - that’s Kesler sitting on the goalie literally pulling on the pad. Neither of these calls were that bad and honestly I think the ref probably made the right call based on what the league would say on both. Super frustrating though and on the Bouchard goal, I think tiny incidental goalie contact should be allowed. I’m all for leaving that in the refs hands and not having it reviewable. But no matter what we lose that because the ref called the contact on the ice.
