Yep. Win this & we're second in the division (and still have games in hand over Vegas). I haven't been following Minnesota at all this year. I assumed they were in a playoff spot, or at worst a wildcard spot. Nope!

3 Cups

Just my opinion but it seems to me the Oilers players kept getting asked about why they aren't scoring as much during that streak and they decided to loose up a little defensively to score more.

What I think they didn't realize is when the Knights beat them to end the streak as an example, it's not that they weren't generating enough chances, they just weren't burying as many as they should have. Grade A chances were hitting posts or crossbars. An inch the other way, they are goals. In addition, it's unsustainable for a goalie to stand on his head like Hill did every game. He was making saves off his head on Leon as an example. McD would miss wide open nets. That's not going to keep happening all year. If you keep generating those chances, they will go in with the talent they have.

So get back to how you were playing defensively and you will be fine.

Even the PK. I heard Knoblauch say it's not the system, it's not bad players, it's the players and especially the dmen not moving out as far as they were, they are playing more passive. So that's a very easy fix hopefully.

I've seen a few Minni games.. they are a hard team.. pretty quick.. have a few snipers.. Boldy, Kaprisov.. they never quit.. Oilers will need to tighten up the loose defense.. and dopey pinches..

I was seeing that as well.. noticeable.. the two forwards at the top of the box way too passive and static.. slow.. unable to put any pressure on the pointmen.. couldn't seem to get into position fast enough to block shots and/or interrupt passes.. speed and quickness on the PK is a high value asset.. some of our PK'ers are a couple beats off, could use some more agility and quickness..

I watched Seattle PK yesterday vs. Canucks.. noticed their PK'ers were way quicker and put a lot of pressure on the Canuck PP.. the speed was a noticeable difference from ours..

No Cups

Big back to back games against non playoff teams... really need at least 3 out of 4 points here to close that gap with Vancouver and overtake the cheating Knights.
