I greatly enjoyed the two hat tricks. I liked watching the McPoints and the Drai goals. Interestingly it was Leon's first hatty. 4 from 50 and one point away from the century club.
Bob Marley and the (Hartford) Wailers.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

That game with the three hatties...13-4 vs NJ Devils in '83. Was that Wayne's mickey mouse night where they left Ron Low in for all 13 goals?

I grew up with very little money. Didnt see my first live game until I was 21 and it was in AZ! Didnt make it to a live game in Edmonton until I was 25.
Stories liked the above make really disappointed that I couldnt see Gretz and Co play live.
It is one of the reasons I still tune in to most game games on TV and take every chance to see McDavid play live that I can.
In 25 years I dont want to be wishing I had seen more and missed the chance because the team was garbage.

Since I've been called out
My posts are meant to be tongue in cheek and an attempt to brighten people's days since the past several seasons have seen this board deteriorate into doom and gloom. I'm an optimist by nature.
I've been an Oilers fan since I moved to Edmonton in 1998. I joined this board when I discovered it after the 2006 cup run. I even played in a Heckle once!
We're all in this together
ok, fair enough ... that was another possibility I was thinking of (sorry, on vacation and was at the beach all day so delayed response). A little warped ;-) but thanks for the touch of positive levity!
I’ve probably been a fan of the Oilers as long or longer than anyone here (basically since the first WHA season as the Alberta Oilers) so this latest decade has been painful, but also lived through the glory years so it kind of balances out - time for an uptick now!!
paste didn’t preserve formatting from the other thread, sorry!

You can’t force these things.
You can’t see it coming. Then one day. It’s there. Like it belonged there all along.

Holy crap, the Kings suck.

Lucic and Russell for Doughty?

They’re tanking while they still have worthy, capable vets. They’ll get a couple high picks over the next couple years, still have Doughty and Kopitar there, and get things turned around before the Oilers do.

McDavid primary points: 95
Kucherov primary points: 89
That bum McDavid fails at getting 2nd assists. Kuch with a league leading 32. Mcdavid with a sad 17.

Kuch can make a pass to Point and then to Stamkos.
McDavid can make a pass to Draisaitl and then to Kassian/Rattie/Caggiula/Khaira/Not Puljujarvi
Clean house or bust

How are we still in a playoff battle? Mind boggling.

Not to mention the 3 blown leads in a row(?) after the all star break.
As bad as they have been, a few points here and there and we would be on the cusp.

Gotta admit, when you see milestone games like this live... it makes it fun to go to games. Seeing 2 hat tricks live? Fun.
So now that's my 3rd really memorable thing inside Rogers place.
1. Playoffs
2. Singing the American National anthem acapella in those same playoffs.
3. 2 hat tricks by two Oilers players in the same game.
The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.
Generally Disappointed.

Lol - I mean hopefully you won't have a ton of regrets...but if you do, I have a feeling not watching more Oilers hockey will be pretty low on the list.

Speedy recovery sir, and you can look to a bunch of wasted points earlier in the season. Imagine those 2 lengthy skids this year, if they could have managed a couple or 3 regulation wins. Would have put them right there.
