Well, so much for the division title. Guess tonight's game determines who we get in round 1

Pretty sad the division win eludes us again. That Vegas coach bump was no joke. 7-0-1 finish to the year. And we were still right there, just too much slacking through the season finally catches up, again. And we keep saving our biggest choke games when we are at or around 1st in the division. We just can't ever get over the last hump.

You know, the Oilers tick me off.

They had a chance at the title of the pillow division and muffed it. The slow played the last 6 games of the season neutralizing their offence but improving defensively which is great news don't get me wrong...

But if they think they can coast into the playoffs and just turn it on I think they are heading into a first round exit. You can't just play that way.

Now in game 82 in a game where it means if they win or lose, they play someone in the pillow division or cross over to the central and get killed.

Maybe my constitution is more frail as I get older, but this team attitude stinks.

Make me eat my words Oilers... one can only hope.

Vegas win the division with 39 wins and 43 losses. Embarrassing.

So what's the situation here?

If we lose in regulation and both Anaheim and LA win, we get Colorado in round 1. That would be fun.

Otherwise we get Anaheim unless LA gets 1 point more than them.

So we need 1 point to get home ice for 1 round at least. Ugh

The injuries the last month or so weren't just role players. So I am holding out hope that Hyman and Draisaitl come back firing on all cylinders. Not to mention I feel Ingram is giving us better goaltending than we've had in the playoffs the last few years. On that note, I'd fire Jarry into the Sun and bring back Pickard as a backup.

If we get a point tonight, we get either Anaheim or LA. A win gives us home ice. One of those "careful what you wish for", but I just feel a series against the Ducks would be less taxing than the Kings.

Kings go go and pound the crap out of the Avs. Then the Avs and Stars probably could kick the snot out of each other.

I'm afraid you'll be disappointed then, considering Vegas clinched first last night.

Take two 50 goal scorers and one of the top 3 players in the league out of any teams lineup and you are going to notice it. Not to mention the other injuries - Dick, Jones etc.

I think for this team it's mostly just a matter of health. If they are healthy (29, 97 and 39) they will likely make it to R3 at least.

After that it could go either way. If (9.)25 can avoid gift wrapping opportunities like he normally does in the playoffs and 14 doesn't try to play in games where he has no business being on the ice (like last year) then they should have a good chance against anyone.

The division means nothing. The most important thing is not to play Vegas or Colorado in R1 before 29 returns.

Fair, I think I had a bee in my bonnet this morning when the radio guys are saying, "well Florida didn't win their division on the way to the cup" drawing a comparable saying the Oilers are just saving their energy.

What the what? Hey, the team is trying they just can't seem to win the big games.

Love the Nurse reference! lol. can he move on already and prosper elsewhere?

Give me a break....

Oilers last 10 games

6 wins
2 OT/SO losses
1 loss in a 1-0 game
and 1 loss in regulation by more than 1 goal

This, while missing Draisaitl, Hyman and then Dickinson. The al'mighty Vegas Knights have 1 more win than the Oilers in the same time frame.

I swear, if this team went 81-1 there would still be fans complaining.

The president thinks he has the ideal male body.
It's hard to disagree that he has the ideal male body.
