I think I'm warming on the idea of Tristan Jarry.

2019-20: .921 SV%
2020-21: .909
2021-22: .919
2022-23: .909
2023-24: .903
2024-25: .893
2025-26: .911

I'm beginning to think last year was the outlier. He's probably a .900+ goalie.

For reference, Skinner:

2022-23: .914
2023-24: .905
2024-25: .896
2025-26: .885

That's a downward trend.

And Binnington:

2019-20: .912 SV%
2020-21: .910
2021-22: .901
2022-23: .894
2023-24: .913
2024-25: .900
2025-26: .878

He likely costs more than Jarry, but I don't know that he is likely to be better. Both likely are upgrades on Skinner.

Just be at least average and don't constantly degrade into a total meltdown mode that takes a week+ to mentally dig out of. Min requirements for our next goalie. Our team can win a lot with just average goaltending. We can win a lot with below average even. It's the full meltdown that sends us on the death spirals.

Jarry could work. Think he's had some injury issues on and off the last couple years, but haven't looked that much into what happened there.

No Cups

All twitter is acting wild like we are expecting an incoming Jarry trade any time now.
2 mutts started this and they’re not the most reliable but Frank is being sus on x and others as well. Is this the end of Pickard? Jarry & Skinner 1A/1B

I always got the impression that 2Mutts are a Lames Fan trolls that enjoy trying to get oilers fans riled up. Frank may have just exposed himself as a clickbait artist that doesn't actually have that great of connections around the league.

Guess we will see if anything happens.

Would be tough to make the money work. Jarry is in Year 3 of a five year, 5.375MM deal. We only have $160K in cap space. We'd need to send, say, Pickard ($1.3MM) and Mangiapane (3.6MM) and have them kick in a carry of at least a couple hundred thousand. And even then, we couldn't replace Mangiapane on the roster without going over. There'd have to be a lot of will from the Penguins to move on from Jarry for this to happen.

Pens are in a playoff spot and Jarry is a big reason why. Not sure why they they would be sending a goalie to us unless we do a stupid overpay. This would have been a discussion for last summer, but our management sat on their hands.

And now with some wins, all oilers media are pumping Skinner tires again, especially after another win last night where he was beat 3 times on 22 shots (one called back for the toe offside luckily) and looked like a fish out of water most of the game. Sitting on hands can once again commence.

Love to see the team win, and the fewer GA the better - but that's exactly what I feared. After 3 straight .900+ games, the pompoms are out everywhere again. Jack and Louie swinging off his nuts, praising him nonstop for any little thing and making excuses for anything that gets by.

We all know that Skinner can have decent games here and there. But inevitably, for every good run he goes on, you can almost guarantee an equally long bad run. And yet it looks like we plan on going into our 4th playoffs with statistically one of the worst goalies in playoff history. Unreal.
