Stu stealing and some nice finishing. Think we will need a better effort next game to get a stranglehold on the series.

Stu winning whilst giving up a goal, a first this play-off. However, that is such a good thing.
For the first time this post season, it looked like McDavid put the team on his back for any sort of period of time. That third goal for us broke the Stars back.
Rest up, go again on Tuesday..

Kinda felt like Nuge’s game … and maybe the series so far. Not sure who this Captain Morgan lookalike is, but give me some more please.

We need to be more committed to getting it over the blue line. So many periods of sustained Stars pressure all a result of not getting the puck out when they had the chance to.

For a team that is usually atrocious during matinees, I’m happy with the results. Seeing it was a matinee I just assumed they would play poorly and from the time they went 2-0 to 3-0 the shots seemed to be about 20 for them and 2 for us. Even the powerplay looked out of focus & anemic in the second.
So this is what hope feels like?

Hyman has been working his butt off all playoffs. Nice to see him get some rewards again. Lots of guys getting better the further we go in the playoffs. Kind of the opposite of last year as guys started to wear down after the long Canucks series.
Still 2 wins to go to finals of course.
Fun stat

Playoff goals since 2022:
35 goals — Zach Hyman
37 goals — Nylander, Matthews, and Marner combined

Even this wind doesn’t hinder the trajectory of the pants I launched when that buzzer went.

I don’t want to let myself ever forget the decade plus pain we suffered, but these past two seasons are making up for it and with no reason to think the ride is ending in the next couple seasons.
Nuge is the series MVP.
McDavid just about to go supernova.
Draisaitl looking like a shutdown star.
No passengers on D.
Stu looked so much better than in his last shut out.
Big hats off to the Stars looking invisible despite winning the shot clock battle. They had a few quality chances but I only felt like we’re going a couple times. and the actual goal against was not one of them. Also expected more physicality out of Dallas. But we outhit them substantially once again.
Beating Dallas in games and hopefully wearing them down physically as well. Lots to like here.
