2 straight shutouts for Skinner. What bizarre universe have we entered?!

Unbelievable. He looked confident tonight too right from the start. Keep it going.
What an ugly game game and the only goal about as greasy as you could get but they played back to back great defensive game.

Imagine how they will look defensively once Eks is back in the line-up.

I mean you can’t sit a guy coming off 2 back to back shutouts. But I do think knowing we have a capable option on the bench, the leash will be shorter.

Has Skinner ever had back to back shutouts, let alone the playoffs?
Amazing bounce back by him. Awesome.

They may not rest tonight...at least a week off and they're in Vegas? I suspect this is a bit of a party!

Yeah not so sure about that. Did mcdavid look like a guy who is ready to celebrate last night? They know what it feels like to lose and the margin is razor thin. Eyes on the prize.

He looked like someone who could stand to let off a little bit of steam.
One of the advantages of finishing a series early is that you can take a couple of moments to celebrate and still have time to refocus before the next one starts.
Sometimes taking a breath and relaxing helps you recharge and leads to more success. Partying at the start of a week off isn't a bad thing in my mind.

All depends what you mean by "partying". If you are talking about going out for a late-ish dinner and maybe a beer then sure. If you mean something along the lines of a Vegas bender..well hopefully this team is mature and has enough veterans that know the importance of rest and nutrition and that they are going to need every edge they can get against likely Dallas and then Florida.
Relaxing? Sure. Partying would be stupid and I would like to think they are smarter than that.

Depends what you mean by a Vegas bender. They have, at a minimum, 2 more days off but it'll probably be 4. Waking up with a mild 20 something hang over in Vegas this morning wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I agree the Oilers don't want anyone missing the team flight and having to fly southwest to Dallas.
If it were me, I'm not sure I'd want to fly back to Edmonton. Watch the Dallas game from Vegas, if that series closes tonight I'd prefer to go straight there.

Gotta say that was kind of an encouraging game from Drai. He was still missing passes and couldn't score to save his life, but he was all over the puck tonight and skating pretty well. Signs he could explode in the conference finals and get back to classic playoffs Drai.

Knob with the magic touch. Gutsy benching our 4M summer acquisition. Kapanen bringing lots of energy into the lineup.

Far from our best game, but Stu made the stops that were needed. Felt it would be a scrappy goal that won it. Thank goodness it was one of our boys who did it.
Full credit to Knobs. Ballsy call to switch the line-up & it paid massive dividends

3 - 1 up in the series and we get a game like that, it felt like the last 5 minutes of game 7 last season for 3 hours.. I'm glad I've got a healthy heart, that wasn't for the faint hearted.
No breakaways given up, no sticks on shots, no players sticking body parts in front of a shot gives Stu a chance on everything, and he saw everything and stopped everything.
Huge credit the Oilers, Vegas was looking to get them to bite on anything and get them onto the PK, but apart from Bouch's slip at the start of the third, we were so disciplined which meant we played the game we wanted, which whilst helping stifle ourselves stopped them. The game plan worked...

The streak of more calls going against the Oilers than the opposition ends at 10 games. Ironically against the cleanest most disciplined team in the history of the hockey.

Miracles do happen :)
Kudos to these refs not wanting to mess with a 0-0 game with both teams really struggling to do much with the puck.

Hehe, saw that. Guy asked McDavid if the Oilers are starting to feel like they are finally learning how to defend.

Yeah - I don't have any issue with anything he said. He was pretty respectful throughout. Said that they really needed a split, and that there was a missed call but that's how it goes and they still needed to find a way to win and didn't.
Now, on to cheering for the Jets to make a series of their tilt with the Stars and for very hard battles for each remaining game.
