Far be it from me to tell Connor Mcdavid how to play hockey but maybe if they give you a clean breakaway don't try to force a pass confused2

Rheinhart has been surprisingly mediocre.. can't keep up to McDavid's play.. skating or positioning.. not complimentary.. Marner is pretty mediocre too.. IMHO wrong line type of mates for McDavid.

Endless great chances and nothing. And easy goal for USA. Sigh

Put McDavid Crosby and McKinnon together as a regular line.. McDavid is wasting shifts with those two mooks.

Binnington just lost his starters seat.

I think there's a few guys on TC who are seeing their chance at an Olympics next year slipping away.

Watched this hoping to see something different. But it’s just another Oilers game. No one can score. Getting outgoalied. Blind refs. And overpassing.

I have to say I'm really surprised how ineffective both Marner and Rheinhart are.. some people were calling for Tom Wilson for the team.. I can see the thinking.. Wilson on McDavid's line would wrecking havoc in tonight's game.

The coach is blowing it.. he has Crosby McKinnon Stone as his #1 line.. expecting McDavid to score by himself.. neither line is scoring goals .. time to adjust.. steady diet of McDavid McKinnon Stone.. (Crosby centers Marner and Rheinhart).. or Crosby McDavid McKinnon.. Coopers line combos are not doing it.. needs to adjust.

I think 97 is at his best when he has a forechecker who can get him the puck while he's moving. He's probably better with Stone or Bennet than either of his current linemates

Marner and Reinhart was like having 2 Nuge’s with him lol. Nice to see cooper juggling the lines a bit.

Agree.. neither Rheinhart nor Marner are retrieving pucks or gaining/keeping puck possession.. its ALL McDavid.. so if McDavid has to get the puck.. possess the puck .. handle the puck.. what are those other two guys doing?.. they don't handle the puck the entire shift.. no give and go's.. and they don't even get open for shots.. Team USA isn't even wasting time on them.. its full focus on McDavid.. Wilson would be giving USA nightmares if he was on McDavid's line..

Marner is super weak.. Don't want to see him in the Olympics.. the Johnston kid in Dallas would be much better than that stiff.

Hopefully we beat Finland..

They’re all being incredibly kind to Binnington. Both of those goals were weak sauce. The second was a decent shot, but still. The first though? That one is killer. You can’t let that in.

I think they need to go with Hill next game and in the final should we make it there.

And how does McDavid try to force that pass when he is wide open all alone 10 feet from goalie. He needs to take that shot.

Lots of really unfortunate moments for a lot of "elite" players in that game. MacKinnon looked completely off, double clutching every shot opportunity, taking part in the overpassing. Crosby looked like he aged 10 years in the last 3 days. Point even was getting set up perfectly in the slot on the PP and didn't even shoot the puck either time. That's his wheelhouse on the Tampa PP, but just straight up choking on great chances.

Harley who gets to come in with zero pressure probably was one of the best players of the night, so maybe it is lots of guys letting the pressure get the best of them in this short tourney. I do think that first goal against deflated the team quite a bit, but that's not really an excuse. Had lots of time to get another one back.

Absolutely.

That weak, sieve-like goal against killed the entire energy both on the bench and the entire building.. can't happen.. bad goalies kill momentum.. all the momentum going one way.. weak goal.. deflate your team.. inflate their team.. killer.

I also thought Harley looked good .. steady.. confident.. Doughty looked off.. but he's coming back from a broken leg.. so not surprised..

If Makar comes back next game I think they have to take Harley off the roster.. ?

Just when you think Bennington has his kit together .. heading for a shutout.. he (and teammates) lets in 3 goals in under 3 minutes.

Swedes beat USA..

Both tukchuk goofs will play on Thursday healthy or not.. TC's gotta ignore them.. finish checks.. and .. shoot. shoot. shoot.. from everywhere.. not an all star game.. TC needs to play for keeps! 👍🏻

Should be a good one whoever ppl are cheering for. League couldn't have asked for a better setup for the tournament and final.

Thought it would just be dumb, but a bunch of USA players running around taking runs at everyone cranked up the interest. Although, seems like the Tkachuk bros banged themselves up a bit, and McAvoy might be out now.

Did the lady singing the Canadian anthem just have a mental breakdown mid song because of the booing?

This is a game of inches, and the Canucks are giving the puck away too often and also passing up on good shooting opportunities.

Connor needs to cut it out with these passes back to the point when he's in prime shooting position. Just take the goddamn shot!!!

US shut his line down completely in the first. The only line for Canada that was doing much of anything was MacKinnon's.

D group in general pretty rough tonight. Lots of lazy plays killing breakouts and getting us stuck in our end. Too bad Morrisey is out.

Gross D. Americans are shutting us down in their end time and time again, and our defensive commitment is suspect. Not blaming Binnington on that one, that's just a complete defensive breakdown in our zone.

Our Connor is playing like garbage. He's touching the puck but doing nothing with it and just gave up a near shortie. COME ON CONNOR, get your head in it!!!

I don't think I'll be able to stomach Matt Tkachuk taking another win over our guy. Please, FFS, tie this game up.

Anyone one on Canada know how to take a one timer? Mcdavid getting a good reminder to take into his contract negotiations there there is only one Leon Draisaitl.

My Flames fan buddy says they could really use a Bennett type player.

We need a moment from Connor here... he looks like he's crumbling under the pressure. His only real contribution this game was a couple of giveaways, one that almost ended up in the back of our net.

You need to show up right now, Connor... you need to do this. It's a legacy moment.
