Skinner was not stopping any of those 3 goals.

2 on 1 (looked like an awfully lazy back check by 97 there. Ovechkin like)

A deflection and ricochet that landed on Cooley’s stick, and a point blank laser from Crouse.

I’ll take goaltending like that from my backup. Now let’s go find a starter.

Pickard has both looked better and posted better numbers than Skinner in the playoffs and through the first quarter of this season.

No Cups

The first goal, 2 on 1, was a lazy backcheck. But Pickard didn't even have proper goalie form to get across. Terrible goal from all involved, except Bouchard. I'm not a fan of laying down, but in that instance he delayed the pass long enough that McDavid SHOULD have been able to pick up his man.

Pickard had to make a very fast lateral move to get a huge save to stop Utah from going up 4-3 late. Does Skinner make that save? icon_wink

Our 1st D pair is becoming very erratic. Seems both Bouch and Ekholm really want to be creating offense all the time lately. Both guys get caught up ice a lot, but obviously Bouch is not as good at the whole recovery part. Would like to see them settle down a little bit. Feel like the bottom 2 pairs are slowly becoming more and more reliable as time goes on.

Definitely noticing that the "cheating" is in overdrive when McDavid's line has been with our 1st pair lately. Even Ekholm hasn't been his usual reliable self this year. That 5 man combo has given up a lot of goals lately, and almost every instance you have guys cheating hard or just being lazy defensively.

The rest of the lineup seems to be playing more and more steady and reliable. Knob figuring the group out again it seems. But he has all his high talent guys doing their own thing still :) Maybe when the luck normalizes and goals start to come a little bit easier again these guys won't feel they have to cheat as much to have any chance for the team to score.
