A game won how good teams win. Key players chip in. Nygaard draws the penalty. Goalie makes the saves when needed.

Wish they could do this to the Leafs.

Good times.

That was ........ not expected.

Thought the Oilers were going to get blown out by a Jets team that hadn't had a week off.

Nygard looks competent. I’m not sure why he hasn’t got more starts.

I think we learned Schmiddy’s secret for his dialing back the clock this season...

In his post gamer tonight, he mentioned how much he misses his family. They’re all in the states, his wife running the show and the kids stayed in school and their sports. He’s batchin’ it. That’s the secret.

My kids are 7 and 3. The oldest never slept right. Last night I was up from 330 to 530. My bus-cations are the only time I get any sleep. I know I chose this life, but people without kids have no idea.

I remember Talbot’s performance took a dive shortly after he had kids (twins?).

Thank God mine are grown, but having a 22 y/o student back for the last year has its challenges, but my sleep issues are just stress related. Can't imagine having a 2nd grader and a preschooler kicking around during covid. The options to keep them entertained have got to be severely limited, even basic stuff. No movies, no galaxyland, no water park, no dumping them at grammas. Feel for ya.

That’s right!! Yep, twins.

There’s something to be said about it for sure. I’ve had a few kidless nights runnin’ back to Saskatoon during this whole move thing and the sleep those nights has been so glorious, especially after a day of sitting in the truck for 5 hours before loading the trailer up. Oldest turns 5 this year and was never a good sleeper and the youngest (7months) is following in his big sisters footsteps in the sleep department. It’s pretty rough. Thankfully my middle child is a sleeper, always has been.

It makes perfect sense now, why Schmiddy has had such a turn around season. Here’s to it continuing. (Though, these rumours of an American hub city for the canadian teams playoff could totally derail that as they’d likely all get the vaccine in quick order.)

Dubs had a kid right before his terrible 2013/14 season too.

Not complaining about a win, but we need Nuge back. Draisaitl can’t play 27 plus minutes. What a horse.

Overall a tighter defensive game, less fire drills in Oil's own end, got the puck out on a regular basis, against a heavy Winni team. Nygard was surprisingly effective, example how much speed factors in the game..

Everyone was skating, and finishing checks, limiting Winni decision time with the puck on their stick, a sign of hope for me, Winni is a solid team, even if they were off a long road trip..

At least we won..... Game was due to be live in the UK till they altered the face off time. No problems, I've got it set to record and I'll be up at 3am anyway to watch. Guess what the freaking TV company showing NHL take 20 minutes after the end of the last programme showing NHL highlights before starting the Caps v Flyers game!!!

Anyway from the highlights and comments so far it looks and sounds like we played well, especially after the inactivity.

Just saying there might be a correlation.
