Welp. Per Oilers twitter;
The #Oilers have listed forward Kailer Yamamoto as week-to-week with an ankle injury & have recalled forward Markus Granlund from the @Condors.
Here's to a speedy recovery for Yamo!

He really can't be replaced. Frig. He's been the best forechecker and at stealing pucks. HUGE loss.

That sucks. I agree - tough kid to replace. He fit in so well on that line.

Interesting that Benson doesn't get to stay still...

I’m on the record as calling Yams a bust here. I‘ve more or less accepted being wrong but my ongoing concern is durability in a player that small. Hope he’s back soon.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

Wasn't it Derek Forbert who spun around (hooked, slashed?) Yamamoto in LA? You know, the guy who was traded to the Flames yesterday.

I thought it was the hold where the Kings' player grabbed Yams by the shoulder and pulled him around off balance. You could see the ankle go sideways. Ref looking right at it... no call...

Dislike the replay of that play too. His arm is being held hard which throws him off balance. No penalty of course.

Dammit! So does that mean Ennis gets the bump up to the 2nd line? He certainly has the skill to play there. Or at least used to. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw him play.

He’s getting the bump to 97s wing with doubles (AA, Athanasiou).

We're a little short on right shot forwards again all of a sudden...that whole first line would be left shots. I assume Chiasson is then playing with Draisaitl & Nuge - if so he's the only right shot in the top six.
EDIT - nope, it's Archibald as the only right shot in the top six.
We could really use a break on health here. Only saving grace is that the other teams in the race have had a lot of their own issues.

I'm pretty sure Yamamoto is dead. RIP Yams. I hope you come back from the dead like McDavid's miracle knee.

2018/2019 - Another round of Drain-O, good sir!

Truth on health. Larss aside, the Oilers were pretty lucky with injuries early on but it’s really hit hard of late. Better at the end of February than the end of March, I guess?
Arizona is getting Kuemper back tonight, I believe.
Calgary is getting Gneeordano back soon, I believe.
Vancouver is awaiting MRI results on Markstrom, or they just haven’t broke the news yet, but early prognosis gave a 3-4 week timeline.
In an ideal world, your team is getting healthy this time of year to have your key guys together pushing for a spot and hopefully earning home ice. Bright side for the Oilers is a) we got McDavid back at the ‘ideal’ time and b) Smith seems to be taking the #1 job in time for the push and (hopefully) playoffs where you don’t want a goalie controversy.

Bummer! I don't think it's pure coincidence that the team has played well from about the time he was put in the line up. The injury bug strikes again ! Fresh troops have arrived just in time but that chemistry he has going with Drai and Nuge will be impossible to replace.

Per Tipp, Yams and KRuss availability for tomorrow (Sat v Winnipeg) will be determined in the morning based on how they’re feeling.
