I burst out laughing every time I see that picture. 1 because it's funny, and 2, knowing how seriously he takes himself, must drive him absolutely bonkers to know it's floating out there.
Anyway - definite must win.

I will never understand how these guys manage to coach the Oilers into the basement and then end up with jobs within our division. Those management groups got the chance to see their work multiple times a year.
I guess Eakins spent some time in the minors but i don't think he will ever outgrow his issues. And Todd has been spinning his wheels in the pacific division forever.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

Spinning his wheel is not exactly fair.
2015/2016 - This Kool-Aid tastes like McDavid flavoured Drain-O.
2016/2017 - This Kool-Aid is starting to taste like juice.
2017/2018 - I'm drinking this Kool-Aid, in hopes that it's Drain-O.
2018/2019 - Another round of Drain-O, good sir!

Will the new additions alter the team chemistry and cause the Oilers to take a step back to adjust?
Or will the new additions add a definite boost, sending players that don't belong in the top 6 down to the bottom 6 where they belong?
Stay tuned.
This is a MUST WIN.

No? I think it’s very fair. Could not get an elite team a cup in SJ in spite of years of dominance. Oversaw an improvement here vs. Eakins’ record but a goat in a hat could have done that. From there the team plateaued, prospects didn’t develop, systems that clearly didn’t work remained in place. McLellan is so average that the word “mean” is right there in his name. #mathjokes

Had the same thoughts, could be an adjustment period but then I guess with all the injuries and suspensions they have had to be able to adapt many times already. Keep it going tonight boys, the games are all key to making the playoffs. Looking forward to seeing how well the new players do. Only 7 regulars out of the line up. No excuses!

I think like a lot of situations in life it comes down to connections you’ve built, image you project, the cut of your gib, and the people you know. A lot of surface related stuff. Because there’s absolutely no way someone like Dallas Eakins should ever coach in the NHL again. At least not for a decade. Would have to prove your worth working from the very bottom yet again.

Really enjoyed the "Hungry Eyes" Eakins song on the Nielsen show this morning. Kid in the back thought I was going insane :)
Gotta wait until their show is posted for today. Doesn't look like they have that song online anywhere.

Well, it is worth noting that they're right back where they belong in the NHL Standings:
Anaheim - 24-30-8 good for 14th in the conference and 28th in the league
Los Angeles - 22-35-6 for dead last in the conference and 30th in the league.
Season series with LA is over - 1-3 for McLellan against his old employer. We've only played the Ducks once and are 1-0 so far. Hopefully we can help edge those guys back out of the league again.

I hope the new guys can pot a few points in their debut playing with McDavid.
Lines 3 and 4 still look pretty bad.

Looks like Anthanasiou will rock #28 with Green wearing #27 and Ennis #63 (silly number) Wonder what number Yamamoto will pick out next season when he gets rid of that linebacker number they gave him in camp. He wore #17 in junior but obviously that's a no go here

It was funny in his interview after practice he said the Mascot (Hunter) has his number, #72, and he didn't want to give the mascot a Rolex so he could get his number.

When I was a kid, before parents cared what you ate for breakfast or what was in what you ate for breakfast, Boo Berry cereal would make your poop green. We didn't worry, we thought it was hilarious.
