It wouldn't surprise me if they won after getting manhandled by Vegas. Sort of the thing these days. Keep that unrealistic hope alive!!

With a 2% chance of making the playoffs... they will lose this one sealing their fate.

I only hope there is a plan to keep McDavid and Draisaitl happy in the off season and beyond...

Drai's quest for 50 goals is the only reason I bother tuning in these days.
Good as he is, I can't see McDavid catching Kucherov, who has has an absolutely ridiculous season, but 50G for Drai is a definite possibility.

McDavid can't catch Kucherov, he's 12 pts behind him. With suspension and being sick, McDavid has missed 4 games. He's at 1.54 pts per game, so missing those 4 cost him at least 6 pts, maybe more. Kucherov would either have to go into a big slump to finish the year or get hurt for McDavid to have a chance to catch him in my opinion. I guess if McDavid turns back the clock and goes 1980's and has nothing but 3 and 4 pt nights, then I guess it's remotely possible but I doubt it.

This is beyond MUST WIN.

I wish the Oilers could play like they did without Khaira and Lucic in their lineup the whole time. Hey wait, maybe they can go back to that by not playing Khaira and Lucic.

This is not a reply running down McDavid's play but rather that Kucherov is having a heck of a season.
Even with the missed games;
- McDavid has played 1567 minutes this year Kucherov 1440
- Kucherov does have the lead in PP minutes- 270 to 243

Of course the quality of players with Kucherov is much higher and I think that has more to do with his lead than the lack of games for McDavid.

Anyway, I think McDavid is having a comparable season to the last couple years perhaps playing better year over year. It is really incredible what he is accomplishing considering the lack of support.

Reminds me of Jordan's early years on the Bulls

I've watched a few Tampa games this season besides against the Oilers and that is a heck of a hockey team. Kucherov is good but if he goes down they carry on and are still a top team unlike if the Oil lose McDavid. For that reason for me Conner is the league MVP as most valuable to his team. No comparison ! Too bad they are stuck on that having to make the playoffs thing because the award is based on the regular season and it shouldn't matter where the team finishes. Who wouldn't take him over Kucherov ? I predict the Oilers get stomped tonight by the way.

Yeah Conner is better than Kucherov.

What would Kucherov's point totals look like if he was an Oiler flanking Drai facing every teams top shutdown focus? Not 117 points!

What would Conner's point totals look like on Tampa?? Honestly he could be at 130.

When it comes to Tampa, I am going to be interested to see what happens to their team next year. Kucherov goes from 4.76 to 9.5 so double.
Gourde goes from 1 mill to 5.166.
Point makes 686K. He has 87 pts. He has more goals and points than Stamkos who makes 8.5 mill.

Right now according to cap friendly, they have 6.37 mill in cap space for next year. I don't even think that is enough to sign Point, let alone their other RFA's. Plus Stralman, Coburn, Girardi and Ruuta are all UFA's. They only have 4 NHL dmen signed for next season.

Then you factor in Sergachev will need a new deal after next season and so will Vasilevsky. Big changes will be coming for Tampa. They better win this season.

Callahan back to NYR and Johnson to Vancouver and they’ll be fine.

Why would the Rangers take Callahan? He's like Lucic, a 4th liner making 2-3 times the money he should.

Well, I mean it was talked about last offseason...

But I didn’t write the articles so what do I know.
