lol, MacTavish in his interview before the game: "we are coming off a flat game, from what I understand".

yeah, knew these OBC boys only use this org as an excuse to get sloshed. They don't even watch the games anymore.

Oilers are being dominated.
The only 3 shots the Oilers have from the slot are McDavid's that led to the goal.

Talbot has made big saves to keep this one where it is.

Just as I hit submit JP scores a hard working goal in front. Nice to see him use that big body to shield the puck

McDavid only in on 50% of the goals. Pick it up Captain

This keeps up, the astute GM might be able to wrangle a conditional 3rd round pick in 2021 for him.

Pulju haters love to bash every mistake Pulju makes, or every posession he gets that doesn't result in a grade A scoring chance (not many here, but lots of people online do this), but the news that seems to keep improving is that Pulju has been getting a lot more touches with the puck lately. The Pulju whining has ramped up, just because it's easy to find stuff to complain about, but in reality, more touches = more opportunity to get something done, and he does seem to be inching closer towards being a more useful player.

Ya, I think it is has a large part to do with the players being rushed in as kids. After three years of seeing a player up and down some fans expect certain results.

On a lot of teams that is a players 20-23 year old seasons. With a guy like JP or Drai this is when they are still kids.

Although Jesse has parts of three years under his belt he is still only 20 and likely has a lot of potential left to unlock.

MacT called it, he said he heard the last game was flat and he figured we would have a big one tonight. He's probably not watching this one either, but he doesn't need to, he will hear about it from someone else I'm sure.

Russell effect.

In all seriousness, this shows how 1 or 2 huge saves early on can change the entire outcome of the game. All thanks to Talbot.

What the?

Montour punches Lucic and puts him in a headlock and Anaheim gets a PP?

Ya, that is a weird one. Lucic chirping and in the scrum get s a double minor I get but Getz went around the scrum to try and get some revenge on Drai for the earlier stuff and gets nothing.

One of the biggest spot-pickers in the league...something like Backes. I'd like to see 'big body' LD be a bit less passive though.

Now THAT is a Lucic that can help the team win. Good hard drive to the boards, makes the hit, gets the puck and centers it, ends up leading to a goal.
Afterwards he makes sure Montour knows what happened and ends up pancaking him.

I am ok with the extra penalty after a 4-0 goal. That is how you send a message, not slashing a smurf who had nothing to do with a play

What an odd 40 mins. The Oilers are being beat in every aspect of this game except the one that matters.
It seems like every quality chance they have goes in and Talbot is playing great.

The more I see Caleb Jones the more I think there is a full time NHL player there. He seems to be very calm and makes very good decisions when the puck is on his stick.

Larsson with yet another below average game. Nurse has been the best defenceman by far tonight.

Two point night so far for Jones.

4-0 going into the 3rd against the Ducks. You just know 97 is going to be roughed up good in this last period. I hope they rally around him and knock some heads. Things like that can galvanize a team for a while. A show off appreciation for carrying this team on his back and taking a beating for it.

Can't believe how we get hemmed in and can't move the puck out of our zone. Not sure the zamboni has to flood their end of the rink. Dodged one or two there. Talbot is outstanding tonight.

Tuned in just before the cross check McDavid took. Unreal non call. Bezerk.

Have seen a bit of Kesler being his normal plug self. And Getzlaf. Not sure what they’ve done to allow them the free passes they seem to always receive from the league. It’s ridiculous.

Missed the one Lucic shift that has twitter abuzz.

Weird to see a 4-0 score in the Oilers favour.

Khaira has turned it over in his own zone maybe 3 or 4 times this game. I’m screaming at the TV.
