Losing streak over! Chiarelli you genius!
You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

Thank you Arizona.
Of course the only offense comes from the McDavid line. Kassian was okay on that line tonight. Wonder if Hitch will keep him up there when Chiasson is back (SATURDAY BY THE SOUNDS OF THINGS) and put Chiasson with Nuge-JP or if Chiasson goes right back to McDavid and Leon.

Kassian didn't look too panicky except on that bad backhand attempt. Great pass to Connor for the goal indeed. But you have to go with Chiasson because he can score, unlike poor Zack.
Larsson looked excellent for the first time in ages- skating, hitting, shooting, rushing, defending.
I love the win but that was a boring, boring game. Just drudge hockey until McDavid would get on and things would go uptempo. Not fun to watch at all. But W, right?

Rob Tychkowski @Rob_Tychkowski
Last 18 Oilers goals by forwards: Chiasson, McDavid, McDavid, Nugent-Hopkins, Chiasson, Puljujarvi, Nugent-Hopkins, Chiasson, Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins, Draisaitl, McDavid, Draisaitl, McDavid, Nugent-Hopkins, Draisaitl, Draisiatl, Draisaitl.
Update: , McDavid, McDavid
Missing the playoffs with 2 guys scoring 40 goals and possibly >90 points would be...kinda crappy.

I had the game on the background.. that first was all sorts of yuck.
A win is a win.
The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.
Generally Disappointed.

I think sometimes you need that guy that can get to the puck first, board control. Kassian can't score but he skates well and can do that. I'm not sure how long he will last on the top line but I hope Chiasson goes back to being a 2nd and 3rd line, he's got a better chance scoring there than Kassian.

Pretty sure Hitchock isn't counting on Kassian to score much on that line. It's the other things he can bring that create space for the two gunners. Thought he did really well last night given it was his first time playing with them and it will only get better as they settle into it. He probably will score the odd goal but that's not his role there. Chaisson will do just fine on the second or third line and will probably get power play time on the first unit.

I think Hitch is just trying to get offense out of literally anybody else. Draisaitl, McDavid, and Nuge have shown that no matter who is their linemates, they will score. It seems unlikely that they are going to score more than they already have just because Kassian making space for them.
Both coaches have juggled and juggled. Trying to get something, anything, out of nothing.

Never heard a louder Canadian anthem or saw more orange in an American rink. I winter in Phoenix but with the win I felt real good for the other Canadians that made the trip down. They had the mud boots on that first period but felt the whole team played well after that. Secondary scoring still sadly absent though.
