Let's face it: blue and orange have never been what I'd call snazzy by any stretch. The only reason they're accepted is because they are the colors that were worn by the great Oil teams of the 80's. They are ugly jerseys, IMO, and the copper-and-blue ones adopted by the team when CuJo came to Edmonton are much classier by comparison.

It's the old white ones I'm not a huge fan of. I actually like the blue and orange. But I could get behind the blue and copper from the Weight/Joseph era and use the blue and orange as a third jersey like when they first re-introduced them. I'd be fine with that.

I disagree completely. The copper and blue were ugly, the blue and orange is very sharp.
Keep the original blue and orange. If you want to do a modern 3rd jersey i can live with that, but dont change them.
It's like calling the Habs jerseys ugly. Sacrilege.

The Habs hit on a good design decades ago that would hold up over time. The Oilers did not, at least IMO. In any case, the team could be rounding a corner after a dark age, and I think they should come up with a new jersey design to show it. That Oilers logo that was shown in the concept art for the new casino would look great on a new jersey (copper oil drop suspended over a dark blue crescent).

From what Connor said, his dad is the polar opposite of Carl Lindros. Good on both of them, and it makes me more interested in seeing him in an Oiler jersey come next season.

McDavids dad is a wise man. It bodes well for the Oilers, this maturity beyond his years.

Or the puck bunnies baring their asses after a playoff win, like the girl I saw doing so at Rexall after the Oil beat the Ducks in game 3. Damnit, I wish I had a camera at the time...

That's an odd comparison. Newborns are ugly if you ask me. The jersey is beautiful. It's not even close.

Day-aam, those do look nice. Nevertheless, I want to see if the team are going with a new design for next season before I get mine. I'll pay extra for stitched-on lettering.

The dumb thing is, after I told you I hesitated on the McDavid jersey, I ordered a Nurse jersey from their pull down menu (they have him as #25), and I found out he's never had that number as an Oiler.

Interesting note.
McD's current Erie coach, Kris Knoblauch, played in the WHL for the Red Deer Rebels/Edmonton Ice/Kootenay, then went on to play for the U of A Bears for 5 years, followed by 2 years as Head Coach for Kootenay. Won WHL in 2010/2011.
One summer he applied for a vacant U of A Bear head coach position, was supposed to be confidential, U of A picked someone else, and for some reason announced publicly that Knoblauch had applied for it.
Kootenay fired him.
Next stop, OHL Erie where he got to coach the next S. Crosby.
Funny how life works out.
At least he can give McD some guidance about Edmonton.

Chiarelli was in attendance at the Erie game tonight. Apparently, Sportsnet showed a quick interview with them (separately) after the Jays game had finished but I had missed it. The Leafs GM was also in attendance.
Does anybody remember the Lightning throwing up headshots of Stamkos up on their website banner prior to the 2008 draft? The Oilers picking McDavid is equally as obvious.

You're right, didn't Tampa Bay actually do the whole "Seen Stamkos?" thing before he got drafted? I remember seeing they put up stickers and posters around town hyping him up.
Edit - Found an old article. He wasn't even drafted yet :

The Otters website lets you order custom jerseys. They're pretty low on sizes though - M or 2XL in most colourways.
