Good start. 1-1. Skinner should have had that save.

I really, really wish Skinner would stop trying to imitate Mike Smith's style of goaltending. Stay on your feet instead of swimming around the ice on your stomach.

Agreed

He got hot last year. Waiting for it this year but he's always due for some stupid goal or two

I disagree with both of you.

@Taligrade
Tavares and Kulak are behind the net and Tavares goes down. Kulak circles out front far side and for some reason heads towards the point. This allows Tavares to get up, head to the net short side and have a wide open point blank chance that Skinner saves. The rebound goes back to the short side where there is a bunch of players and no Oiler picks up McCann who knocks home the rebound. Skinner saving a rebound in that scenario would be a great save.

@Oiltec
I agree he shouldnt do the Smith impression, and he often does. As mentioned above he makes a good save after being hung out to dry. He made that save out of the butterfly so ended up on his stomach trying to sell our for the rebound. Ideally he would be able to make the first, stay in the butterfly and push to his right again, as mentioned above, that would be a heck of a save and I dont think he can be blamed for not making it.

Much like Nurse, a lot of Skinner's critisism's are earned but we can't blame both of them every time there is a GA

He does seem to flail about a bit. That play where Nylander almost scored on the PP with the blast off the boards, for example, he's just all over the place. It's hard to feel confident with him in net.

100% agree he does. I just dont think on that play he was to blame. I am far from a goalie expert. If he lunges and makes a save there most fans would be cheering for a great save. Missing those isn't a save he has to have, the first one was and he made it, the second would be a bonus.

Man. The only time Reaves is noticed anymore is when he is making a trash hit or costing his team by being useless on the ice. Get that pos out of the league.

The only downside to the match penalty is we don’t get to see some well deserved retribution.

Helping Reaves further justify his existence in the league is probably not ideal. He would just go nuts on someone and potentially injure another Oiler.

Better he just keep racking up match penalties and suspensions until he finally feels he has to quit.

You get Reaves back by catching Marner or Jammies boy.

Nothing can unite OilFans like a dirty hit from a dirt bag player. I've never liked Reaves but he seems to be getting dirtier as he gets older.

Excellent pass in front of his own net for the second, the a great hustle on the back check by him on the third goal too.

Yowza. Rough start for this guy.

I have defended a lot of the whipping boys on here but both of those goals are inexcusable from Bouchard.
I dont coach anymore but both of those plays were benchable offences when I was.

Luckily, we have Leon to step up and pull the team back into the game.

Have to agree, Bouc absolutely cannot pass the puck across the middle of the ice in front of your own goal. You can call that a rookie mistake but I would have to apologize to rookies.
