...and a win!
...really nice to see SKINNER step up and get that shutout. He faced down a number of tough shots over the game.

god

...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

Good game. Ridiculous amount of chances again. Pens lucky to only let in 4. If we had Broberg and Holloway we probably score 10 tonight.

Good showing by Skinner for the shutout.

Maybe if we had last year's Hyman and not end of career Jonathan Cheechoo, we get to 10. Dude was being fed all game and CANNOT finish.

The decline is real, unfortunately.

Hehe. Was thinking of Cheechoo and his 50 goals. I think he had more issues working against him than Hyman though. Addiction issues and surgeries mostly. Hyman is just full on choking right now. Even a stone hands junk grinder could have fluked one by now off the chances he has had. Needs one to go in off his butt to break the curse.

Why did Nurse get an extra penalty after the fight? Couldn’t figure that one out. It’s not an instigator on the score sheet (which would have been ridiculous anyhow).

Fun game to watch. If the Oilers had not been trying to set up specific players in the last 10 minutes, that could have been a team record for shots. Pens look like a team on the way down…outside the old stars, there isn’t a lot there.

Nurse and the instigator penalty and any extra possible punishment seem to just go hand in hand.

99% of the time when 2 players agree to fight before a face off and drop them at the same time there is nothing extra. Kinda like how every game misconduct for a late game instigator is rescinded except for one time.

You are absolutely correct. I've never seen that either. Pettersson volunteered to scrap.. you can see them talking it just prior to the faceoff..

Nurse (and Edmonton) always get hit with the far extremes of any NHL ruling.. in the Oilers case.. be it for an on-ice infraction, trade rulings, GM interference, CBA ruling, or supplementary discipline from the DOPS.. the decisions are always at the extreme end (or beyond) of any precedent.

League bias.. the evidence is in the rulings history.. its not chance.. its beyond any statistical standard deviation ..

Starting to realize the NHL really hates Northern Canada.
