Their goalie is unreal. Skinner played good again, but damn. Had our chances.

Oh well. Can get past this streak stuff , and hopefully don’t let this ruin us

Should have got Lindholm. 2 goals in 2 shots for the Canucks tonight. Definitely something that would happen for the Oilers this year

Up to the Knob to figure this out. Vegas owns around their net and their slot. We still think we can casually toss stuff in there and get anything but a turnover.

And if you want to beat Hill, better learn to hit the net high like the apparent godly sniper Chandler Stephenson can. We are either wide or along the ice.

Hell of a run. Now we just have to start the streak all over again.

Smothering effort from Vegas all night long. They just don’t allow much for great chances. Definitely a team we are going to need a game plan for in the post-season. There’s an excellent chance that’s our first round matchup.

Yeah. Felt like we were the better team, having more possession, but not exactly threatening. Well coached team.

That loss hits hard. Incredible they had an opportunity to tie a league record.

Oh well. Now to focus on the real goal.

They were going to eventually lose, but tough to lose to these clots. Hill was pretty good tonight. Oilers played pretty well but a couple guys on the back end were a little sleepy. I didn't see the first GA Skinner, but the second looked like Ceci skate right in front of Skinner.

Oh well, start another streak and pass that team.

That's exactly what he did. Goalies love it when a D man doesn't go out to block the shot but rather skate in front momentarily to screen them.

So this is what hope feels like?

Now imagine if Nurse had a D partner that can actually play solid defense. Ceci did a full circle behind the net and then coasting out front across Skinner's view. Not even an attempt to block the shot. Just a clueless coast.

McDavid was pissed as he wanted this one just as we all did!!!
Maybe this loss was a good thing against Vegas as it’s a wake up call that we need some moves before the trade deadline!!!!

Holloway is turning suspect for me, trade bait.
We need a top 6 RW, bottom 6 C, RH shut down d man.

How do we get Alex Texier 50% retained.

Both goals we are dummys around the net like last playoffs. Bouch and Ek clueless of the man behind them. Ek too late to do anything to the open man right by the net.

Then Ceci chasing behind the net and finishing off the brain fart with a nice screen.

Not gonna cut it again vs Vegas. Especially if we can't aim.

I just don’t like this Vegas franchise at all…
I don’t know who the heck is cheering for them…. Vegas is a gambling city full of tourists…. And i always hated how they got to build their team for free… All the best second lines in the NHL gifted for free to them…. While Oilers spent years to build their team from draft sucking….

I hate Vegas fans and their arrogance because their fans have never experienced losing. Inevitably the Knights franchise will take a dip. Let's see the fan support for the team then. Until I see different I will always call that fan base fair weather fans.

If we can't get by this team that's down two key pieces, we aren't going go win the cup as we will need to go through them and they will only get better. Need to figure out a plan soon.

The only thing I would say about the Oilers because they dominated and this applies to McD the most is when playing teams, he likes to carry the puck in and trying to cut through guys. That works against most teams but not against Vegas.

Every time he would bring the puck in, their their huge defense and structure, he would have to try and get through 3-4 guys almost every time that were almost in a box. He might get by 1, maybe 2 but not all 4. I was pretty clear to me the Oilers are the way faster team. So I wonder if doing a soft dump in, not a hard rim but just softly putting the puck in and using their speed to go get it.

Nightmares watching last night's game....brought back memories of "not getting enough depth scoring" come playoff time when the opposing defence tightens up..coaching has to come up with alternative strategies to get past Vegas.

^If it's any consolation however, Florida & Dallas had the same issues last season too so yeah...

I’d feel a lot better about the team’s chances in the playoffs if Holland could somehow find another D-man like Ekholm to push Ceci or Desharnais out of the starting 6. If the Oil face the Knights again, one or both of them will be the undoing of the team again, I have no doubt about it.

The Oil played the better game by far I thought. better scoring chances, more of them, more control. Adin Hill was outstanding.
I really only have two critiques.
1 - it seemed like we held the puck too long before most shots. Move it quick (like we were) but get a quick shot off. Too many blocked shots. (granted, from a very well positioned defensive structure)
2 - we seemed like the softer team for 50 minutes of the game. You don't need to smash guys every time they touch the puck, but you need to put some effort into the physical game to make them rush their decisions.
