6'-2" x 200lbs .. skill.. skates well.. drives the net.. great addition
Wish E. Bear well, really liked him since junior, if he applies himself to training like he did the off season prior to the last one, he can get his career on track and do well.

In case anyone was counting, in 2 more games played, Foegele has a whopping 1 more point than Ethan Bear

Foegele is sporting 2 goals and 5 assists in 18 games playing 13:10 per game.

Bear is sporting 1 goal and 5 assists in 16 games, playing 18:18 per game.

I'd say both are performing to expectation so far.

Nice try pal. Bear has Covid, so clearly he was the wrong guy for the team.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

Interesting how Frank Seravalli has Bear as his #23 on his trade list in the offseason and he mentions his fitness and maturity as a reason he fell out of favor in Carolina. If that is true, I would imagine that wouldn't sit well for Rod "the bod" Brindamour who's supposedly a fitness freak. I thought I heard and this is from the media but fitness issues were a frustration for the Oilers in a few seasons.

I wonder if Foegele gets bought out and I wonder if Bear gets qualified. I sort of thought it would work out better for both organizations, to be honest.

Me too. I don't think Foegele was bad for the Oilers. It can take a player a while to adapt to a new City, team, organization. I'd have to think coming from a market like Carolina to Edmonton would be on hell of an adjustment just on attention alone. Then you factor in learning a new system then a coaching change. I bet he is better next season. But I could see him being traded and I think he'd have value.

I am not trying to brow beat the guy but as much as I had no issue with Bear when he was an Oiler, I saw him as a 3rd pairing guy all day long who got more attention because he shoots right. When you are a 3rd pairing guy , you can find yourself out of the line up easily. If he was bigger, he wouldn't would have played .

Foegle's problem is he's not very agile, nor has good hands.. he stick handles likes he's chopping carrots.. he puts in the effort and moves decent in straight lines, but not quick.. and for his size doesn't leverage it towards any form of intimidation.. he's too quiet for his skill set. The fact he isn't considered for PK tells you something about his skating abilities.. If he could improve his skating he'd be a much better asset.. much like everyone except.. McDavid.. or maybe McLeod (although he needs to work on stopping on the puck.. as always) .. it worked for Leon.. he's a guy that really improved his skating after junior.. it can be done.

Pelletier should be working one on one with every guy not named McDavid.

Buyouts are a great way to save money on your cap!

No chance Foegele gets bought out. There is more then meets the eye from year 1 with this guy. Trust me.

Agreed! I’m counting down the days to the end of Sekera’s buy out penalty cap hit so the Oilers can start saving money again!

Please do not feed the bears. Feeding the bears creates a dependent population unable to survive on their own. Bears.

The buyout cap hit is gonna look so bare soon if we don't act fast. Maybe we should trade for Anderson.
