I actually can't believe that they did this to themselves. This is the difference between a team like Boston, Tampa or Colorado versus the Oilers.

Just dumb penalties... shooting themselves in the foot. They're beating themselves in this game.

Either 97 redeems himself in OT or look out in game 2.

He’s had a rough night.

He sure has. A few flashes here and there but otherwise totally ineffective.

The problem hasn't been the big two though... it's been the stupid penalties from our immediate support group.

Kopitar so close to scoring on that last rush. And we take it back and just skate the puck into a King stick. Come on boys,

Not blaming the refs for this one. Rather our team for taking blatant stupid penalties over and over.
I mentioned in the pre-game thread that if we kept our discipline we'd win no problem. Didn't happen and it cost us the game.

My god. I thought this form of the Oilers was purged. But nope, it's still there and it was just itching to make an appearance in the last thirty minutes of this game.

The Oilers need to look at themselves and realize that they can't play like that. YOU CAN'T TAKE THAT MANY GODDAMNED PENALTIES IN A PLAYOFF GAME AND EXPECT TO WIN.

Someone tell Nurse there was a more dangerous guy than whoever he was trying to lay on the ice to block a pass to

Seeing the highlight that was probably Nuge or Ceci's guy to pick up. Nurse doing what seems to be our PK game plan, to block the cross ice pass where Kempe was waiting. Zero pressure on the passer or Iafallo waiting for the 1-timer 5 feet away. Zero chance that is at all what we should have been doing.

Those last 2 PK's were just awful at the worst time. Both cases guys just left completely free around the net.
