Much better game defensively. I thought other than the one bad step up and a bit of suspect coverage on the second goal, I thought they did a lot better and when the Kings got a chance, Skinner was there to make a save and he played a lot better.

I can't imagine being a Kings fan and watching that style of game over and over game. They literally do all they can not to take a chance unless they get down. Credit to the Oilers for not getting frustrated and falling into their old ways of taking unnecessary chances. I thought they stayed mostly patient and when they had a chance, they buried their chances.

Still boggles my mind how few penalties the Kings get when their entire style of game is built around trapping, clogging up the middle and impeding the other team. When a player is skating at you full speed and all you are doing is sitting back waiting for him to come at you. You have to be moving at roughly the same speed to get proper body position which is pretty difficult to do when you aren't moving. How do you stop a player who's skating while you aren't moving that much unless you interfere, hook, grab or trip? The answer is, you for the most part can't. So they rely on the refs letting them break the rules.

Well said

Skinner was on another level last night too. When he is on I swear he is one of the toughest goalies to beat in the NHL. He really shut the door in the third period when pressure was knocking at the door. Was awesome to see

The good news is the schedule lightens up a big
Blues
Seattle
Penguins

All winnable games against teams currently not In a playoff spot

But then we have the Bruins again which will be tough.
