We have 38 points to LA's 37...they have two games in hand though.

And Vegas in 2nd has 3 games in hand on us.

I do keep expecting the Ducks to fall back to earth though.

His stats didn't show it, but I thought Jarry looked really good. Not much he could have done on most of those goals where our team just gave up playing defense, and he had several big saves.

I'm so over Frederic. What a waste of a roster spot and $4m in cap space.
Wish they'd given Hutson some time on McDavid's line towards the end of the game rather than Frederic.

Couldn't watch after the 1st. Looks like it ended up a battle of titans in the nets icon_lol

I can be nice to Jarry for now though. 1st goal 3 guys all don't do their job, easy goal for pens guy with 2 uninterested Oilers right by now off a rebound. 2nd goal, screened (kinda?), another rebound goal with useless Oiler right there, 4th a guy wide open in the slot gets to pick his spot, surrounded by oilers not caring again. Same as last game it looked like, everyone just stopped playing in the last minute and other team gets an easy goal.

2 weird games for Jarry to start his Oilers career. Watching Skinner do his patented fall down forwards instead of keeping his balance to cover the ice like on the first goal lessens the pain. But, we still need to be way better. Maybe emotions ran high in this game for everyone. Hopefully things can settle down for the next game. Although Bruins are always tough for us as well.

With the slow start McDavid had, he still managed to take over the league scoring lead. MacKinnon still has his game to play. Still, McDavid has been back to his dominant self the last month and a half.

Draisaitl is amazing but you said it, this team rides and dies with McDavid. His shooting the puck has opened up the scoring for this team. He’s normally unreal when he’s dishing nothing but passes but when he starts shooting, goalies can’t handle his shot and they still need to worry he’s going to dish. 97 sets the tone for our offense
