1) how the hell is that not a call for wrapping his arm around Mangiapane and hauling him down? Seattle players even stopped playing. Wow.

2) I’ve already seen more in 2 games of Clattenberg than almost 50 games of Frederic

Taking stupid penalties. This is ridiculous.

Why was it stupid? There's no telling what the refs are going to call on any given play. And the rules are in place to protect rats and allow star players to be targeted. So really you might as well earn your penalties and just make 2 or 3 dirty plays on every shift. The penalties are going to even out anyway so earn the ones you get. An elbow to Marchments face is better than a phantom tripping call.

This is what Florida figured out. The idea that the team can play "disciplined" and that this will result in less penalties is just wrong. So just understand that they aren't going to call everything and do what you want out there confused2

Especially when it comes to a guy like Marchment. He had taken a few liberties already in the 1st. Let him know the team wont stand for it and make his loose tooth a reminder.
Not every penalty is "bad" or undisciplined.

Exactly - I mean ideally it's someone other than 29 or 97 doing it but the Oilers as an organisation still haven't figured this part of the game out.

I'd say they are pretty consistently useless. Looks like there's a big moneyline on this one.

Agreed. They are completely useless and nothing ever changes. It’s so frustrating. With that said the Oilers go up. 2-0!!

Every now and then, that guy can have a good game. It’s weird, but when he is dialled in once every 10 years, he does have a really good game.

Good game. Seattle looks like they have been reading too much hype about their team. Little bit of a humble session for them.

Usually catching a game like this is a wonderful excuse for OIlers management to go back to doing nothing. Guess we'll see if anything has been learned over the years.

Refs were useless as usual.. the slew by Montour on Mangiapne.. and teh blind side hit on Nurse by Marchment were both legit penalties left uncalled by both refs..
Squids get 6 PP's and Oil get 2..
