Don’t recall feeling so beat up after a win. We got ragdolled and somehow get the W.

1st star - Pickard, easily. What a game.

Hands up anyone who thinks we win that game with Skinner. The post to post in OT. Skinner would still be getting ready to push off.

Anyway - Pickard now 6-0!

The team needed their goalie to steal a game away from VEGAS. PICKARD got that job done.

...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

They're still the bet. Just hide it sometimes :)

Wonderful for the vintage McDrai straight out of a 3v3 OT to come out right at the end

It's 6.30am, the sun is rising on what is already a beautiful day. I've got the rest of the day to destress, and try and work out how we managed to win the game, throw it away and then win it again.

Pickard was outstanding, the rest looked very leggy at times, but we jump on the plane home and rest up go again on Saturday. Taking two games in Vegas isn't something anyone does in the play-off's so lets enjoy it. Oh and they were like 44 games into a streak of not losing a play-off game when scoring 3 goals. We extend our comeback record..

Draisaitl may not be 100%, McDavid is maybe down a percentage or two, but they are still point producing monsters regardless and we should never doubt them.

Well having watched MUFC reach a European Cup final on Thursday night, straight to bed to get 4 or 5 hours sleep before this game. I think I'll pop out for lunch later on and a couple of celebratory refreshments. drink it be rude not to.

Pickard was lights out great.

Special teams worry me. 2 Vegas PP goals. 0 for us.

Pickard saving bacon all night. Hill so damn beatable too, so many posts hit.

Just a total mess of a game, and damn nice to come out of it with the win.

At least we know it's likely Skinner wouldn't have got to .700 tonight. And Pickard would have had to play anyways

I think their D are hearing footsteps when Podz & Kane are coming at them. They tend to fumble the puck more. To play this poorly and win is a bonus. We know they can play a lot better. They have done that a few times this playoffs now where they don't play well and win. Game 3 is very important imo. Don't give Vegas any hope. Put your boot on their throat and play a full hard game like in LA in Game 5

So this is what hope feels like?

Pickard is not the backup. That's done. Skinner is the backup moustache or not.

Greasy play by Arvidson but couldn't happen to a better team. Should have been #7 though.

People should honestly know better by now than to blame 29 or 97 when things aren't going well. These guys do everything for this team and and play through an absurd amount of abuse.

Debrusk is terrible. He should take the next few months off to heal his voice.

We know McDrai are game breakers, and they showed it again. But they definitely need to be better overall than they were tonight if we are going to go the distance. I think McDavid said as much after the game today. What perfect timing it would be for them to dominate game 3 :)

So do those VGK uniforms have some stealth technology built in or something?

How many time did we leave guys WIDE OPEN back door. Like they didn’t even know the guy was there. Especially on the PP. they need to clean that up for next game.

It was interesting Bieksa talked about the 1st goal against the Oilers during the 1st intermission.. the Oilers left the wide guy at the faceoff circle open for the one-timer (Leon's spot) .. Bieksa said he would have liked to see Kulak put his stick in the lane to clog it up.. instead Kulak was stationary and tried to react to the play instead of just positioning himself to take it away as a possibility
The VGK PK sure knew how to take that away.. Leon didn't have any decent looks all night on the Oiler PP.

Oilers really need to figure out their PP.. make some adjustments..

Our PP is constantly trying to find that same Drai pass and it's never there. Maybe we are confused because it's so easy to make that pass in practice.

We are stuck in our own loop of our PP and PK not helping the other improve and maybe even devolve.

I think they have to move Leon around.. move him in and out to that spot.. so the PK'ers can't key off him.. its too stagnant and predictable.. if RNH had more than a muffin for a shot from the RHS.. the PK'ers would be forced to play both sides as a threat.. they just leave RNH alone.. no one goes to him..

If you ever watch a box lacrosse game.. the forwards are always moving around trying to get a moment of separation to receive a pass and shot.. checking is so super tight.. one good tactic used is make contact with the defender.. lean on him so he thinks he's with you and has position on you.. then suddenly push off to get separation.. and before he can react.. get pass.. shot.. score.

Yeah, the lack of movement is really bad. Seems to be some overconfidence of how easy it should be for our top guys to just snipe a pass through bodies to get a nice shot.

Hope one day we could have a right handed shooting option on that left wall. Nuge can certainly shoot, but he always needs some chaos to be happening off a rebound or scramble to have the time to take it.

We aren’t in LA anymore Toto.

Vegas looked scary AF tonight.

Take note boys.

Need to get some good licks on Eichel when the moments arise. He’s Mr Everything. Knocking him out of this series would be crucial.

Vegas will probably be even better next game. Hopefully last change helps us counter and we can figure out how to stay on top of them like game 1. Crazy amount of lost puck battles tonight.

That game should have been prescribed with some drugs. I'm not sure what kind. But something _strong_.

They won't be able to get the Eichel match ups they want in Oiltown.. Hill proved he's more than beatable.. might help reduce the number of Oiler forwards that refuse to shoot the puck and are intent on passing it into net..

Lots of things to improve defensively.. expect they are up to the task.

I think Roy gets a minimum game suspension.. and McCabe looks like he's got a separated shoulder.. Vegas roster could get shooken up.

McNabb is the #1 matchup guy against McDavid. That's a huge loss if he is out.

That’s got to be at least 2 games. That was vicious.

It was one of the dumbest penalties I’ve ever seen someone take. The timing, and Frederick didn’t really do anything to him. He just turned around and smashed him right in the face.

Or like Louie said, going for the puck.

That was one of those regular season 5/10/20 game suspensions. Given it's the Knights and playoffs we'll see what comes of it. Absolutely blatant and no justification.

My thought when it happened was that the NHL will look at a playoff overtime major as worth at least a couple games of suspension. Terrible play, but Frederic wasn't dead, so there's no way that Parros will want to give a suspension.

That is...until the trip from Arvidsson. Now, there's a possibility to give both players a night off. We'll see what happens. I could even see Arvidsson with one game and Roy with nothing because Roy got the major and Arvidsson didn't. Is that fair or right? No. Is it NHL-ish? Oh yeah.

Since we won the game, probably 2 for Arvidsson and that's it.

Oh, and Peter Angelo is allowed to 2-hand overhead chop any player of his choosing because of how hard done by his team is feeling.

I don't agree about Arvidsson.. his stick got in McCabe's feet accidently.. nothing intentional about his action.. and wasn't even called a penalty .. probably a missed one.. but the leger is still in the black for Vegas.. so I'm looking at it as a bit of an equalization of bad calls..

Having said that .. Parros as we all know is a clown.. so I could see him giving Arvidsson a night off.. just because.. as for Roy he should get a 4 gamer.. but lucky to get 1.. and more likely a $5,000 fine :)

Oh yeah that was one of the worst cross checks I've seen for years.. in regulation time.. never mind OT.. he looked straight at Frederiks face and cross checked him point blank.. while Frederik's arms were down.. Roy didn't even look at the puck.. .. Roy's brain saw black.. he knew what he was doing.. intent to injure

Note: Louie is un-listenable now.. his and Jack's blatant USA broadcast auditioning schtick is getting kind of sickening.. I've been watching the last 6 games with the sound off.. they've become cringe.

Louie has made himself a useless a play by play commentator..
