Ryan Donato just signed for four years $4MM per with the Blackhawks. He's two years older, and just scored 62 points and even that's probably a huge mistake given that his track record says he's a 30-point player other than one huge season.
Still, it's HALF the length of this reputed contract and he's at least got a 60 point season under his belt - way more than Frederic.
I am hoping and praying that the team isn't this stupid - but man...it rings pretty true to form.

What the hell for? This is stupidity if true. He was up there with the most invisible players this entire run. What about what they saw says “ooh - we need 8 years of THAT!” At $4m per no less

It'a been a while, but this story is just another crrazy Oiler story to come straight after a Stanley Cup final. I mean rumours of 99 leaving, Pronger asking to leave are probably the ones we flipped on the most and they turned out to be true.
Fredic for that term and money, if it's true it possibly joins the other two to pad out a top 3 that you wouldn't think could be true but turned out to be so.
It would certainly match the stupidity of the Lucic contract, and I thought we'd learned from that.
