A perfect capper for a terrible game by Leon. Skinner was who we thought he’d be; please let Pickard come back for the next game.

Skinner hung in there and did what he could, especially considering that he's a basketcase right now.

Drai though, is a goddamn mess.

The hockey gods absolutely hate us.

Skinner doesn’t see another game please in an Oilers jersey. Pickard or bust.

Draisatl needs a smack to wake up, the tipped in goal was just the cherry.

That goal at the death was brutal, they've got to pick themselves up for Monday, split the series.

Skinner, such a mixed bag, sloppy goals and some good saves keeping us in the game. As brutal as some of the goals against were, a win would have done his confidence a world of good as it is, we'll be on his back and he may not read it, but he'll know what is being said about him. He has to turn the narative some how.

I’m not even joking - if Pickard can’t go next game, start Rodrigue. What a kick in the nuts this was.

What a joke... play until the whistle, and how does Skinner one again look so out of position. Sure he made some key saves, but he was also brutal in other areas. If Skinner starts again next game then there must be more to a Pickard injury.

This one hurts so bad.

Why would you bring him up? I'd erased him from memory and now I've got 06 playing back in my mind.

Pickard getting his leg fallen on didn’t already send you back there? cry

Need a huge showing of guts from this team next game. They almost got up 3-0 in the series by putting in a weak effort in 2/3 games. They owe themselves their second proper effort of the series.

Lots of bad moves that guys are known for on that ending. Nurse can’t just tie up the man, sells out like he loves to do. skinner full of panic mode skates out of his net like an idiot. Less so Drai, but Drai was a bum all game decides to make his night even more memorable.

The first goal with him on his butt for wide open net, the last no where near the crease. Skinner in a nutshell.

Seriously - if Pickard can’t go, are we really starting Skinner? The worst goalie in playoff history? Why not try Rodrigue? Can’t be much worse.

Man - that sucked so bad. The high of McDavid tying it up, and then under 10 seconds to go, not even in our zone, for sure at least going to OT with momentum on our side. Then that happens.

And why did we only have 20 shots on Hill? He’s playing like a sieve. You can’t pass up point blank chances.

Anyway - you would have told me we could be up 2-1 after 3, I think we would all have been thrilled with that. Sadly, if we see much more of Skinner, I can’t see us getting many more wins.

If you want to see an example of a play that indicates players don't trust their goalie to make a save.. both Nurse (naturally) and McDavid both dive to block the shot.. then Skinner comes out 10 feet so that Smith can skate around him for an open net.. to be fair to Leon.. he was trying to block the cross crease pass to the open Vegas player on the other side of the net..

An Oiler classic own zone experience.

IMHO.. the guy that really is to blame (had the easiest play to make) was Nurse NOT rubbing out the Vegas player that skates the puck all the way along the boards and behind the net and makes the pass into the slot that created the entire mess..

Arvid was diving on point shots just a minute before that too. No one trusts Skinner to make a basic save.

Sounds like Mumford has worked skinner in an alternate reality. Smiling after the game, says he kept the team in the game. He’s had to move his brain into a space of total delusion and denial to try to keep his NHL career going.

I guess I take solace in the fact we are up 2-1 having only really outplayed them in 2 of 9+ periods.

Periods 2 and 3 in game 1, we looked unstoppable. Game 2, we were lucky to escape with a win. And tonight - more even than last game, but sadly we got Skinnered.

It’s unforgivable to have Rodrigue as the backup for a Cup contending team. Any team with hopes of going all the way need AT LEAST 3 NHL tenders. I don’t care if they are past their best before date.

Stu is done. We really need to hope and pray that Pickard is good to go for game 4. If not, I would without hesitation start Rodrigue. Again - what’s the worst that can happen?

Too true.. I thought the same today.. Oiler's goalie depth is so weak they can't even think of putting in the 3rd guy.. Rodrigue has not been that great this year in the AHL.. hasn't progressed much..

"That's a goalie's job to give your team a chance to win the game. I thought I did, but it's a couple of tough bounces here & there."

Not a single ounce of accountability from Stu. And he can't afford to be accountable because his ego couldn't survive it. Bowman has work to do this summer, no matter how the playoffs go.

Well a goalie has to be careful o9r he'll turn into a 50 ton guilt weight like what happened to Campbell.. thinking about it.. a guy I never seem to hear say he has to do better is Nurse.. ?

Lots of good goalies are accountable, and use taking ownership of bad play as a way to drive themselves forward.

But yeah, the mental midgets can fall into a deep dark hole. Teammates can tell when a guy is that delusional though and need excessive coddling just to keep their heads on straight, and I imagine our players are pretty sick of it by now. How they play in front of Stu is enough of a sign of that.

Nurse, I'm not sure if Nurse even knows when he plays bad. Guy is 100% reactive play. He probably always thinks he did the best he could, given all the endless surprise situations he discovers himself in all night.

The reverse Samson. His stache weakens him.

Pickard not available for game 4.

Going to need to score 5 or 6 tomorrow for a chance to win it looks like.
