I’m probably crazy to think we SHOULD win this game. We really should though.

The Buffalo franchise makes me sad. I've been hoping they were just about to turn the corner for 5 years now and somehow it keeps getting worse.

This is why you never should make your waterboy the GM. He has no idea what he's doing and he just fumbles from one mistake to the next.

I spoke about the strange decisions relative to Zucker and Norris/Cozens, but I didn't even realize at that point A) the monster contract they'd given Cozens that he's under-performing badly on. H He got 7x7.1MM, signed in Feb 2023. Cozens was 2/3rds of the way through his third season and it looked like a breakout one as he'd finish with 31-37-68.

But in dealing him, they get back an even worse contract with Josh Norris! Coming off a 55-point season (in just 66 games), Norris signed for 8x7.95MM in the summer of 2022. The contracts run to the same end date, with Norris more expensive, also always underperforming relative to his deal and having never played a full season in his entire career due to injury - including playing only 8 games the year after he signed that contract.

Somehow, they managed to get less cap space and give up an extra draft pick for a more brittle player who's performing at the same level. It's pretty incredible actually.

That said, the Sabres, despite all their challenges, seem to bring their best against us. Tage Thompson always seems to be a thorn in our side. Hopefully, we can just brush them aside tonight. It's embarrassing when they beat us.

"Thinking that a bad team's best players are the reason the team is bad is the "Tambellini re-signing Lennart Petrell" of sports opinions." @Woodguy55
