Crappy to lose like that. But at least we got a point. Not a big deal. Time to move on

Lots of missed calls, but the loose helmet was very suspect. It’d feel so weird, and dangerous for a goalie I could see why Skinner wouldn’t make that save.

I’d love to hear the ref’s explanation post game on that one. Player safety is so subjective in officiating.

Skinner should have pulled the old veteran move and just shaken it off. Stop expecting the refs to do you a favour.

Skinner's not the goalie for this team. Other squads have looked to improve that critical position and the Oilers haven't.

They need a better goalie for the playoffs.

Maybe it is because I really only watch the Oilers these days but always feels like we are the only team that still doesn’t know refs are never going to do you any favors. How did Skinner not do what he saw Mike Smith do a million times before, and just shake his helmet off the second it was loose with the puck in his own zone? Worked for Smith every time and no ref can really argue it. But Skinner spends a good 30 seconds or more crying to the refs with his helmet strap dangling and ends up letting it all get into his head so much he gets some weak sauce save attempt on Byfield. Super dumb.

Perry needs to start a lecture series in the locker room and wise the team up how to bend rules and get away with stuff.
