LFG!!!!
Hope 97 is feeling a bit better as he was quite obviously sick and probably nursing something. Leon still being Leon. The D, specifically Nurse and Ceci looked better apart - let's keep it that way.
'I'm not a big "rock em sock em" guy, but I liked Carrick those last 2 games - if he can continue the relentless and hard punishing forecheck, he can make those D start to hear footsteps. Also don't be shy to finish your check on Benn.

McDavid is hopefully over the strep infection or illness, and has enough drugs in him to play through the CMI (sports hernia?) he’s been managing. Going to need our top two lines to be elite and Skinner to return to competent if we want to get this job done.
Everyone has us as underdogs which feels good.
LFG and prove the naysayers wrong.

Finding it tough to get excited for the game. My wife is in the ICU with pneumonia in both lungs after having an appendectomy last week.
Hard to focus on anything other than her right now. Needless to say our trip to AB is canceled.

Hopefully Henrique will be ready to go for game 2. I saw clips of their practice and it looked like he was skating pretty hard and he took Kane's spot because he doesn't practice. If they can get Henrique back and he slides into the 3rd line to hopefully help that line pick it up, that would be a big addition.

People seem to talk a lot about how McD and Leon are playing hurt. They are still doing well but they aren't 100%. I am not saying that is incorrect.
Both the Kings and Canucks have basically employed the tactic of hacking, wacking, hooking, holding and at times having a guy almost on their backs, yet they still are both almost 2 pts per game and sit 1-2 in playoff scoring with a pretty healthy lead on 4th place Tkachuk. So if they are hurt, why don't they take some skates off like Kane does? Even if they can't make the injury worse, rest and recovery is always a good thing. Yet I don't think McD has missed a single practice and Leon maybe 1 back in the Kings series. Those guys play the most out of the forwards and take the most abuse so I don't think anyone would think them taking extra rest is a bad thing even if they are healthy.

Maybe I should be a little bit more worried than I am. I know Dallas has a very deep team, and they have a hot goalie and it will be a very tough game. But Edmonton is also playing very good, and if Skinner can play well in Nat, think this series is ours. We need to come out fast and strong tonight in Dallas and shut the fans up fast. Hopefully we can score a couple of quick goals. I don’t think Dallas is a team that plays well from behind, so if we can get an early lead and don’t take our foot off the we should be OK

I'm the opposite. There is a part of me that is just hoping the Oilers don't get embarrassed like against Colorado. I guess that's just how I prepare myself in case they do lose (but I do believe they can win, and that they have a much better shot than they did against Colorado in 2022).

PTSD. Colorado is a team that just owns us. Dallas is tough, but I would much rather go against them than Colorado
Please don’t let us get embarrassed. We will be known for the team that makes the conf final and gets embarrassed. I just don’t see it happening. This goes 6 or 7 games

Colorado a couple of years ago was a stacked team.
The Oilers went into that series with:
Smith and Koskinen as their goalies. No offense to those guys but I think Skinner Pickard are better.
Their defense was: Nurse Ceci - Keith Bouchard, Kulak Barrie.
Ekholm is better than what Keith was at his age.
Bouchard is 2 yrs older, more experienced and way better.
Desharnais is an upgrade defensively over Barrie.
So their defense is way better.
They have a better coach.
Their depth players that are different consisted of Kassian, Yamo, JP, Archibald.
Janmark, Holloway, Brown, Carrick, Perry are better than those guys.

Don't think we can avoid Skinner being a huge factor in this series. Dallas will get their chances. Lots of crafty veteran players that will find ways.
Canucks young guys were not able to rise to the moment once the clinching was in sight. Dallas vets will just keep on grinding.

I still think we score. Dallas goalie is solid, but he was pretty average in regular season with a .905 save percentage. He isn’t impossible.

Yeah. Think we will get our goals. Main concern for me is how many we allow.

Weird coincidence: both these teams blew 3 goal leads in game 1 of round 2, but came back to win the series anyway.
Bold prediction: if either team gets a 3 goal lead tonight, they will hold it.

...our "depth" requires McLeod to stop his stick-checks and fly-bys. Same with Foegele.
...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

Lots of game 1 road wins in the pro sports playoffs. Keep the trend going.
19/23 ESPN analysts think the Stars win (Messier shouldn't count because of course he's picking Edm/NYR final).
97.
