At least Stu is ready to play. The rest of the team should probably wake up.
Edit: Woo! Ekholm has been on fire lately!

There was such little contact on that Nuge called back goal...
Zach might have moved him more if he sneezed on him. Lame.

100% agree. That was a perfect hockey play. Drive the net, avoid major contact with the goalie and get a shot.
Replays are ruining hockey viewing.

Wait, they called that one back too?
I mean there was contact, but it was part of continuation of the play.

Refs aren't happy that the Oilers are winning, obviously.
NHL reffing is such a tragedy.
Congrats to the refs! Mission accomplished! Tie game.
I hate NHL refs. They are absolute garbage.

I know people love to hate on Bettman, but I don't think to suggest that he's trying to stack the deck for a team who has almost no shot at a post-season berth would be a stretch I think.
I think the referees are likely just bad, not corrupt. Not sure that's much better.

Double agree after my reply to hamblaster.
I said my piece on the Oilers goal but this St. L one was right to count. Again, a perfect play by the net front Blue.
Stupid replays. I hate them more with each season that goes by.

LOL... Bouch has his periodic mind-blowingly bad play. 🤷🏼♂️🤦♂️
Nuge needs to get going, but he's forcing plays too much. Needs to get back to what works for him.

Bouch is being made to look foolish in this third. Credit to the Blues for their desperate play, but Evan needs to step it up.

Geez...as much as I've been praising Binnington, Stu has made some CLUTCH save to keep us in this game. Just looking like they want this win more than we do.

If they averaged a goal for every 5 seconds together, they would quickly outpace Gretzky/Kurri as the most potent forward pairing in Oiler history.

That is on Ekholm. It's a little chip back and he just missed it. He had a great game, but that was a tough way to finish.

It was a bad idea for McLeod to make the pass, as there were 2 Blues players right along those boards waiting to intercept it. There wasn’t much Ekholm could have done to mitigate the boneheaded decision.

That's a pass you see all the time. The Blues players weren't close to Ekholm, they were 10 feet behind him, making a line change. It wasn't exactly a rocket either - just the kind of puck that Ekholm receives cleanly 99/100 times. He just misplayed it - I think because he basically glanced up at the wrong point in time.
It's actually a pretty risky line change by Schenn with the Oilers having just taken back possession of the puck, but it works out because of that little slip.
It's odd to me how so many fans will always try to pin the blame on a relatively few players - reading yesterday's thread, there's a few of you who want to call out every mistake from Draisaitl, Bouchard, McLeod - but players considered defensive stalwarts (or often fourth liners) are immune from this scrutiny. It shows some biases for sure.
Ekholm had a really good game. He made one mistake. It ended up in our net. That's not condemning the player, just like mistakes from McLeod or Bouchard don't define their game either. The Edmonton fan need to rag on certain guys, usually skilled players too, is something I'll just never understand.

We just refuse to make any good opportunity into a good shot on net.
Blue got 1 chance and execute perfect cross slot pass for a 1-timer.
