Was busy today and just now saw Janmark scheduled for the top line. if that is a sign of balancing some ice time between the top three lines then maybe it's a good plan.. If Janmark is top 6 on the team in forward ice time this could be a painful game to watch.

Credit where it is due; Janmark provided a good screen on that goal.

Announcers need to quit the Bouchard-MacInnis comparisons. Lets not put those thoughts in his head.

Just a brutal turnover by Drai. That's the kind of thing that's killing this team.

He's made a couple of bad choices. Looks like he is trying to do too much out there. He seems to be the type of competitor that is putting a lot of pressure on himself with McDavid out.
The line between stepping up and over-doing it can be a fine one, hopefully he settles in.

I'm not blaming Campbell on that one.. Bouchard is nowhere near physically tying up a man.. takes a swipe at the puck instead.. doesn't clear it.. but the attempt prevents Campbell from covering up the puck.. out to another guy not tied up.. who swats it home.. a guy which Ekholm should've had..

BTW.. Erne is brutal.. Malone would be better..

Both GA come with the scorer being Bouchard's guy. Move the guy or tie his stick up if you're right beside him. Hard to figure out the Oilers'defensive zone coverage still, still seems to be room and guys just beating Oilers to where the goals are scored.

Soupy dialing in on that smooth .750 after 1 period.

Jack Campbell's rebound control strikes again. Pretty unfortunate considering the Oilers had a pretty good period.

I never watched his time with the Leafs, but from everything I've seen with the Oilers I don't see any good fundamentals. Can't believe they went all in on that. It makes me question if pro-scouting even watched him.

His Stu been worse? Why has Campbell had 4 of 6 starts? I would have thought Stu would have earned the advantage after last year.

Minnesota had 2 wide open nets on the PP, both posts I think, then Soup with a desperation save. Probably some of this due to Soups read and positioning, but doesnt matter if they dont go in.

Jaysus the Oilers are giving up grade AAA chances here.

Jack Micheals loses his mind after Campbell makes a fairly routine glove save.

Not if the Oilers keep leaving guys wide open directly in front of the net. Brutal defending, the high danger chances against must be double digits easily.

Why was Nurse left in front with 2 guys to cover? Ceci was covering his guy, but why no forward help? This has to be a team effort.

He is choking hard grabbing free pucks in our zone this year. It's like he is looking away for his next play before he touches the puck and keeps just losing it. Better get his crap together and take an extra moment to make sure he doesnt embarrass himself and actually get control.

That was a crap bench change.. 13 had to skate all the way from the bench.. freaking guys late on a dew changes today.. no one seems to know they are next up.. Defence especially..

Then on the 4-3 goal Bouchard half asses a pass then doesn't stop the resulting pass wide open guy.. he's useless at defending..

I'm very close to just putting Bouchard in the class of Poti, Gilbert, Petry, and Bergeron. Good offensively but such a trainwreck defensively that they aren't worth it. I'm very happy they didn't give him an 8 year deal.

Muff play by Bouchard, bang bang, 2 guys wide open. Someone needs to ask their Oilers why their defending is regressing.

I thought that might have been Nuge's guy. Hard to tell in this system what the assignments are. The Oilers dont know, clearly.

Yeah, this "new system" is a trash dump. This nonsense might cost Woody his job.

Our defensive game is unfathomably terrible. If not for Campbell, this game should be 9 - 3 right now.

The change to zone was supposed to be easier for the defenders to comprehend.. and execute.. less smarts and skill required.. however.. the personnel they have still can't execute it.. which appear to indicate.. lack of skill and smarts.
