Seems like Staios is already no longer part of the Oilers and expected to head to the Senators.

Quote:

Steve Staios is reportedly no longer with the Edmonton Oilers front office. The change was first discovered by Oilers fans noticing that Staios was no longer listed on the Oilers’ hockey operations website. The news was then confirmed by Tom Gazzola during a recent Oil Stream podcast.

Article mentions some friction with Tyler Wright at the draft from Oilers + and Jeff Jackson hiring may have changed plans.

lol, would be funny if Staios ends up doing well with the Sens or another team. Would be pretty fitting and very Oilers that we somehow managed to scare away a rare actually useful ex-Oiler in management.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Venom was going to spit if he assumed the GM position or left.

Holland says Staios is still with the Oilers, but dealing with a family issue.
