Memorial Cup Started Friday..
WHL host Kamloops beat handily by Patty Roy's QJMHL Remparts .. didn't realize Patty was still coaching.. lookin' like a grizzled CHL coach these days..
WHL Seattle T-Birds take OHL Petes 6-3 today..

Blazers come back from a drubbing by Remparts.. absolutely smoke Pete's 10-2.. tournament is getting interesting.. Pete's with 2 losses.. Blazers at 1-1.. T-Birds vs Remparts tonight.. I'm pulling for a Dub final.. with Blazers winning it!

Pretty poor conclusion to the Memorial Cup.. last couple games weren't even close.. The Remparts beat a loaded T-Birds team 5-0.
Guenther, Schaefer notably quiet during the tournament.. if we still had Schaefer as a prospect I'd be a bit concerned.
Laraque talked about the Remparts on Stauffer today.. said they are the richest team in the Q, get 18,00 to see games.. they attract al the best non-CHL drafted talent (i.e. USA, Europe, NCAA transfers), kind of what Portland used to do..
