8:30 start time for me tonight and I have a bit of a cold... Doubt I will make the entire game tonight, but hopefully the Oilers can win of these two... I doubt they beat Minnesota tomorrow, so hopefully they can at least take out the Blackhawks.

Skinner in net vs......uh oh.....Arvid Soderblom? Undrafted 23 year old rookie Swedish goaltender who has two career wins, and only one from a + .500 team.
I've seen this movie before.......hopefully we have moved past this and torch the kid. From what I have read he struggles with rebound control and puck tracking.

Staying healthy is one thing. But also making an impact in some ways. I thought last year in the 29 games he got in, he was mostly just out there on the ice giving the main guys a breather. I guess for the most part nothing bad usually happened but not a lot of good happened either. To me, the Oilers have a lot of guys in the bottom 6 who are just out there and are similar players.

That's been the M.O. since the 2006 Cup run...bottom six guys just buying rest time for the top two lines. If you do not scored on in Edmonton then you are earning a multi-year deal. Bottom forwards being a placeholder is now the norm.

It would be nice. I am not sure Benson is as fast or hits as well but they could use a guy like that. For all the grief Archibald got, he does have 4 goals and is +8 in Pittsburgh. Oilers could use a guy like that in the bottom 6.
