A stick shaft into the chops isn’t a penalty?

Gonna be one of those nights.

Good grief.

It'd be nice if they could avoid coughing up the first goal in a game for once.

Bouch, you should have taken the damn shot there....

Especially when Skinner had to reach up 6 inches to do it.

Pretty decent Mario impersonation by Tage Thompson on that one.

Foegele gets an extra 2 for his best Zach “Huggy Bear” Stortini impression …

Let’s not forget it was Foegele’s ‘pass’ that put Holloway in that position. Not great, Bob. Not great.

Worried about Holloway in general at this point. Kid is not ready. Let him play 20 mins a night in the AHL.

Ya, thats a tough one. I think one of the guys called it a full body check and I *think* I agree. I don't think he targeted the head and seemed to have his elbow down.

Elbow was definitely down. Just an unfortunate situation Holloway was put into by a lethargic pass/clearing by 37

I think you need to do the old rewind. His head came dangerously close to hitting the ice. About 12 inches from it.

Also, check out the angle where you see the Sabres numbers. Right on the button.

If it’s no head contact, it must be an upper body injury keeping him out of the game?

Passed up on so many good opportunities in the first with cute pass attempts, and here we are. This team needs to relearn every single lesson every season I guess? Hope it doesn't take too long.

First, they need to learn lessons about avoiding spotting opponents goals. Scoring first would make things easier for them.

The sabres are clearly expecting us to try to make fancy little pass attempts instead of going at the net. We keep trying still

The sabres are clearly expecting us to try to make fancy little pass attempts instead of going at the net. We keep trying still

A team has the book on the Oilers? Another team… knows… what the Oilers resort to time and time again? Huh.

Glad we aren't disappointing them!

It’s really fascinating actually, that fans who watch this team thru the years know what’s coming in terms of team play yet scouts that are literally paid to watch teams don’t get the message across to coaching staff more often about how teams play, or maybe they do. But it’s always the same Ol’ with the Oilers, you’d think more teams would counter punch with the fast aggression that kills this team.

At least we’re not the Canucks.

Nearly through 2 it looks like one of those January games when the Oilers were well out of it. Not a hell of a lot of assertive play by the Oilers, not the effort you want out of a team that made the final 4 last year.

No hitter even though Holloway got destroyed. Maybe they'll wake up in the 3rd.

Hey now! Give Foegele some credit, he put up a beach ball for Holloway to get clobbered in open ice and then hugged the guy that delivered said clobbering.

Not contenders.

A bunch of millionaire athletes that are feeling more than accomplished from making the WCF and getting stomped by the Avs. They're not playing like a team that wants to take a step forward. More like two or three steps back so far.

Man. Barrie has played like a flaming bag of dog turds so far. Tired of seeing his muffins from the point.

40 shots and 1 goal? Is Eakins coaching the team again?

This team has had the same offensive gameplan of ‘McDrai or Bust’ since 2018…

What happened in 2018? Glen Gulatzan.

Who’s still on the coaching staff from then? Yep. You guessed it. Glen. Gulutzen.

Oddly seems like our best looks just ended up being sad forced pass attempts. Guess there are many ways to go full Eakins. Intentionally shooting from anywhere, or turning all your best opportunities into a giveaway trying to be cute.
